RedWeek Hacks: How To Make The Most Of The 2021 Ski Season

published on October 5, 2021 by

The weather is getting chillier, and the slopes are calling! Where will you go for the 2021 ski season. We’ve got a roundup of some of the very best snowsports destinations this year below — and how to make the most of your time there.

Why You Want To Book Now — And Why You Should Discover The RedWeek Ski Resort Advantage

First, a word to wise: you should probably plan your ski vacation early this year. According to our latest data, bookings for ski properties this season are up more than 200 percent from 2019. After a slower 2020 (for obvious reasons), people are clearly ready to hit the slopes again in a big way.

But never fear — RedWeek is here to get you where you want to go this winter. Some ski resorts may already appear to be sold out via their own websites. But RedWeek’s vast inventory of timeshares still has plenty of great ski resort timeshares available. And they’re available at great prices too, often much lower than what you’d pay directly to the resort — up to 70 percent cheaper! Think of it as the ultimate ski season hack. (It’s up to you whether to let your friends and family in on the secret.) Check out some unbelievable deals

Colorado’s Rocky Mountains

Breckenridge, Colorado

Opening Day: November 12, 2021

The Slopes: With five peaks, 187 trails and close to 3,000 acres of skiable terrain, Breckenridge is one of Colorado’s most beloved ski destinations. All ability levels will love Breck. Here, you’ll enjoy four diverse terrain parks, suitable for the most advanced shredders in your crew or the newest skiers. Less than two hours from Denver, it’s a snowy paradise all season long.

Where To Stay: Grand Lodge on Peak 7 is an ideal home base for your Breckenridge trip, with easy access to the slopes and Breck’s fun downtown. With everything from studios to four-bedroom offerings, you’ll enjoy a stylish aprés ski bar, the Soothe Spa, and fine dining at the Sevens restaurant.

Breckenridge Travel Tip: In recent years, fat-tire biking has become one of Breckenridge’s big draws, with cyclists taking to groomed trails for snowy, two-wheel adventures. Try it for yourself at the Gold Run Nordic Center

Vail / Beaver Creek, Colorado

Opening Day: November 12, 2021 (Vail); November 24, 2021 (Beaver Creek)

The Slopes: A wintry playground in the Rocky Mountains, Vail is the largest ski area in the United States, with 5,317 acres of skiable terrain, including such famed spots as Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin. Beaver Creek, just 15 minutes away, offers three mountain areas that deliver everything from gentle, beginner-friendly slopes to steep bumps for the fresh powder connoisseur.

Where To Stay: Searching for luxury in the Rockies? Look no further than the majestic, Bavarian-style Ritz-Carlton Club, Vail, located at the base of Vail Mountain. When you’re not skiing, get cozy around the firepits and soak in spectacular views from your private balcony.

Vail / Beaver Creek Travel Tip: Plan your trip during Birds of Prey, the FIS Ski World Cup tour, during which the best skiers in the world converge upon Beaver Creek Resort. This year’s event takes place Dec. 3-5, 2021.

Aspen, Colorado

Opening Day: November 25, 2021

The Slopes: A beautiful Rocky Mountain enclave, Aspen mixes upscale pleasures with incredible skiing. This four-mountain destination boasts more than 5,500 acres of skiable terrain, 362 trails, and 41 lifts. In other words, it’s a place that snowsports lovers won’t want to leave. Believe us, Aspen has turned many visitors into dedicated ski bums.

Where To Stay: Hyatt Grand Aspen places you right in the heart of the Aspen action. You’re always just moments from the best skiing, shopping, dining, and people-watching that this unique mountain town has to offer.

Aspen Travel Tip: Not everything in Aspen is expensive. The easy-to-use Downtowner bus will whisk you all over town, free of charge, from 11am-11pm daily.

Utah

Park City, Utah

Opening Day: November 19, 2021

The Slopes: If the perfect mountain town exists, it might be Park City. This world-famous ski destination features nine mountains and three terrain parks, and plenty of “the greatest snow on earth,” as Utahns like to boast (with good reason). Park City is just a half-hour’s drive from the airport, too, ensuring that you’ll be zipping down the slopes in no time.

Where To Stay: It’s all in the name. Marriott’s Mountainside at Park City is literally mountainside, giving you privileged ski-in/ski-out access. After your day in the powder, kick back in spacious two-bedroom, two-bath villas.

Park City Travel Tip: Make a pit-stop at Park City Mountain’s Mid-Mountain Lodge. Once a 19th century boardinghouse for miners, it now offers flame broiled rotisserie meats and a full-service, ski-in-ski-out cocktail bar.

Snowbird

Opening Day: November 24, 2021

The Slopes: Located the heart of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest, Snowbird is another great Utah snowsports option, boasting 2,500 acres of awesome terrain, just 26 miles from Salt Lake City. This spot averages 500 inches of powder annually, resulting in one of the longest ski seasons in the world, often stretching all the way to mid-May.

Where To Stay: Settle into an elegantly appointed room at the Cliff Club at Snowbird. You’ll be able to enjoy Snowbird’s amazing snow all day long, and then enjoy your private deck with a hot tub in the evening. What could be better?

Snowbird Travel Tip: The Cliff Spa at Snowbird is a must-visit for rejuvenation, with 21 treatment rooms, a yoga studio, a fitness center, a rooftop pool, and a salon.

California

Lake Tahoe

Opening Day: November 24, 2021

The Slopes: The Golden State stakes its claim as a bona fide ski destination, thanks to Lake Tahoe. Here, skiers take advantage of several different ski areas — including the mountain resort aptly known as Heavenly, located on the California-Nevada border. Heavenly’s 97 runs and 30 lifts offer ski experiences that range from mellow, wide-open cruisers to intense 1,600-foot chutes.

Where To Stay: Rustic luxury is the name of the game at Marriott’s Timber Lodge Tahoe, located a hop, skip, and jump from Heavenly Mountain Resort. The one, two and three-bedroom villas here have everything you need to relax after a day on the slopes, from fully equipped kitchens to whirlpool tubs.

Lake Tahoe Travel Tip: Get an Epic Day Pass at Heavenly and save up to 65 percent compared to the cost of lift tickets.
