I agree with you in that one must be smart in the use of timeshare weeks. Any change from "using" an owned week generally lessens it's value. I consider using an owned week to include renting it out and/or trading it thru Interval. Exchanges thru Marriott for points (Reward or Destination) generally lessen value received. Thirteen month reservations (long term planning) is a must. Timeshare ownership is not for everyone and requires lots of attention. Timeshare weeks and points would be much more difficult to sell if buyers really understood how difficult it is to get what you want and the real dollar cost of the weeks you get. Renting thru Redweek is such a bargain! Dennis
