You don’t have to splurge beyond your means to have a great vacation in San Diego. Even within a limited budget you can have the time of your life. Here are some tips on how you can plan an economical within-budget family vacation in San Diego, without cutting corners on all the fun you can have:

• Whether its peak season or off season, San Diego remains just as mesmerizing. You can visit it off-season rather than during the peak season which will work out to be more cost-efficient. Hotel rooms are much cheaper in January, February, March, October and November.

• Find an accommodation in San Diego which is within a short drive of most of the San Diego attractions such as zoo, sea world, sandy beaches etc. This way you won’t have to spend extra bucks on commuting.

• Search for affordable accommodation online and you will find lots of hotels in San Diego which offer room prices inclusive of breakfast. Several hotels provide complementary breakfast and it’s better to take advantage of that.

• You would be surprised to know that lots of attractions in San Diego are free to the public. Entry to all of the museums in Balboa Park is free on rotating Tuesdays. The attractions like the Timken Museum of Art, Botanical Building and Lily Pond are always free.

• The La Jolla branch of the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, is free on the first Tuesday of each month.

• If you are a party animal then enjoy the nightlife of San Diego by roaming around Gaslamp Quarter. Or just take a long walk and enjoy the beauty of the white scenic beaches. And all of that comes free.

You don’t need to burn a hole in your pocket in order to have a pleasant and memorable vacation in San Diego. Just keep these tips in mind and you can have a great time even within a limited budget. Remember San Diego has lots to offer, you just need to know where and how to grab it!

Also, another affordable option in San Diego is to take the trolley to visit many locations including Coronado Beach. You can get on and off at your leisure. Also, Amtrak is a good way to see the coastline between San Diego and Los Angeles and beyond, with many stops in between.
