Selling of a timeshare from use year to calender year

Aug 27, 2019

Hi,

We joined RCI back in 2005. At that time we were advised use year & calendar year are 2 different things. Now 14 years later they are saying they are the same.

We sold a timeshare in March of 2019 for first use in 2020 calendar year for the new owners. Our use year goes from Oct 1 to Sept 1, We are in our 2018 use year right now. Rci told us that we have lost our 2019 points even though we paid the fees to the resort as Dec 2018 for the 2019 year fees. when the resort stay is aloud will actually be 2019 use year when jan of 2020 comes around. Where we see it as that is now 2020 & new owners would need to pay the fees for that 2020 use.

That makes no sense, i contact the closing company & they agree. Would like to hear from others who have insight to this or had the same experience. Have a 3 way conference call setup with the resort & rci to get this straighten out hopefully.

Thanks

Wayne K.
