    Kissimmee, Florida

Silver Lake Resort is easily Orlando’s best-kept secret! Bordered by 65 acres of wetlands offering seclusion and privacy, it's hard to remember that you are in the middle Florida's hottest tourist area. Help yourself to world-class amenities such as the heated outdoor pool, hot tub, children's pool, movie theater, basketball and tennis court, clubhouse, children's playground, video arcade, golf simulator and pool tables.

Silver Lake Resort offers one-bedroom to three-bedroom luxuriously appointed timeshare units that include a full kitchen, living and dining areas, washer/dryer, jacuzzi tub and more. One bedroom villas feature a king-size bed in the master bedroom, two queen sleeper sofas, and two full bathrooms. Two bedroom villas feature a king-size bed in the master bedroom, two full-size beds in the guest bedroom, a queen sleeper sofa in the living area, and two full bathrooms. Two bedroom lock-off villas offer a king-size bed in the master bedroom, a queen sleeper sofa in the great room, and two full baths. Three-bedroom villas feature a king-size bed in the master bedroom, a queen-size bed in the guest bedroom, a full-size bed in the second guest bedroom, a queen sleeper sofa in the living area, and three full bathrooms.

Exploring Orlando's best is a cinch from Silver Lake - this resort is located just two miles from Walt Disney Animal Kingdom Theme Park, seven miles from Walt Disney World Resort and just minutes away from other Central Florida’s premier attractions. Looking for something a bit different than the parks? No worries - you're also only two miles away from Orange Lake Country Club which boasts four distinct golf courses to choose from. Also nearby is Lake Bryan where you can charter a boat for water skiing, wakeboarding and tube rides, or man the helm on your own jet ski.

We just returned from two weeks in Florida and spent one week at Silver Lake Resort. We exchanged into Silver Lake to a 1 bedroom deluxe unit. This unit was very large. The kitchen was beautiful. It actually had two sitting areas with two pull out couchs and a large screen tv. The bedroom was also very large which was next to the master bath with a jacuzzi tub and seperate shower. We were in the 300 building, second floor, unit 325. There was also a stackable washer and dryer inthe unit. My only complaint was that we arrived very early for check in and they stated they would call as soon as the unit was ready. They told us the same thing last time we stayed here. But, they never call, because it is never ready until check in time. I would rate this at 3.5 stars. There was room for some improvement but I would stay there again. A big plus was that there was no sales pressure to tour from the staff.

Just got home from Silver Lake Resort in Kissimmee, FL on 2/15/08. We stayed in the 800 building, unit 8205A in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit on the 2nd floor.

I don't know about the other units, but the 800 buildling & up have elevators instead of stairs which I really wanted. Its not as close as the 1700 and 1800 buildings but none of the buildings are too far and there was a tiny pool at our building if you wanted to use it.

One of the things that I liked the most about Silver Lake Resort was that it had the best security of any we have stayed in so far in the Orlando area. There was always someone at the gates. This meant a lot to me as our GPS was stolen at Grand Beach Resort in Orlando in August 2007.

We also loved their main pool. It is a large area with nice music playing and a snack bar where you can buy food and drinks. No fancy slides, but they had lots of activities like water aerobics. Unfortunately for us it was too cool out the week we were there to want to swim.

Our unit had 2 bedrooms which each had a king bed. We only used the master bedroom which has a Stearns & Foster Boulevard Collection ultra plush Euro Pollowtop bed which we found extremely comfortable. We had a jacuzzi tub plus a separate shower in the master bathroom with the toilet behind a wall for privacy. The other bathroom was next to, but not in the bedroom. It had a regular tub and was the size of a standard bathroom.

The living room had a large LCD TV hanging on the wall while the bedrooms had TVs that looked to be about 20". The remote didn't work well on the LCD TV and you couldn't order movies on the TVs as they are in contract negotiations. The furniture was fairly comfortable as timeshares go. None of them seem to have super comfortable furniture. There was plenty of lighting. As others have mentioned on reviews I read, the living room has a tile floor instead of carpeting while the bedrooms have carpeting. I didn't mind it though I brought slippers just in case. Our unit had a screened in porch which overlooked a pond with a fountain.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and so was the lady they sent us to in order to get our parking pass and be invited to the timeshare breakfast. I declined the breakfast. We only got one phone call to ask if we had thought any more about coming to the breakfast.

My only major complaint was the they STILL don't have internet access in the rooms! They have wireless access in the lobby but almost no electric outlets (I finally found one on the last day) ! The internet was down for a day so I went to the business center where you have to sign up for 30 min sessions on their computers or 2 slots where you could plug in your laptop. The internet didn't work there with my laptop (or another person's) but it did work if you were signed on to one of their 3-4 computers. Don't plan on printing your boarding pass there though as there are no printers there. Business center and game room both close at 10 pm so last appointment for internet is 9:30.

I guess I'm an email and internet junkie but I had to try to find somewhere to read my email. I found 2 Starbucks, one on Rte. 192 near the resort and one in the town of Celebration which is nearby. One had no internet and the other had T Mobile internet that you had to pay for. In my area all the Starbucks have free wireless internet. Someone told me to go to MacDonald's near the resort so I did. They told me which corner to sit in to get reception. Unfortunately no electric outlet and my battery was dead.

Back to the unit and resort. You are given just a small amount of dishwasher detergent, coffee and Tide and have to buy refills. You have to make an appointment on Tues for a Wed. cleaning (at least those are the days for Fri-Fri). When you leave they want you to bag the trash, put the dishes in the dishwasher and strip the bed. I said to my husband, strip the bed!" But my husband suggested that maybe its so they know if you've used both of the beds.

We didn't check out the movie theatre but there is one that shows movies that have been out of the theatre for a couple of years. Two kids movies and a 7 pm movie to appeal more to all ages.

Only other thing is that we went away for a day and visited friends. Upon returning there was a dead cockroach on the tile floor. We were on the 2nd floor so maybe the bug situation is better up there. I was glad to find only one bug even though it is Florida.

All in all, I like Silver Lake and would definitely return again and recommend it to my friends.

I traded here and rented to some co-workers who loved it. They said everything was nice and clean, easy check in and out, beautiful grounds and close to everything. They would return and recommend this resort.

WE LOVE THIS PLACE. We own 2 seperate units here, one is a 1 bedroom unit and we also have a 3 bedroom unit. Out of all the resorts we have traveled to, this seems to be our favorite. Spacious rooms, large bathroom, great large pool the area and rooms are ALWAYS clean. The fantastic atmosphere makes this a place that we will continure to come back to for many years to come.

Was not impressed with resort rooms at all.The unit was very small and bath linens were limited. Four towels for four people and low equality.Small t.v. and very uncomfortable seating in livingroom. No dishwasher. My son and family stayed at another resort near by and it was so much nicer.

Stayed in a 1 bedroom 1st week of March. We were in one of the main buildings overlooking the pool. Very clean and nice resort. Good location. Seemed to be well run. OK for small children has small playground and a nice pool.

Gave it 3 stars because we hated the tile floors everywhere.

The resort was ok, however, we travel a lot, using timeshares and have seen much better. The accessability to disneyworld was good, but the new 900 building is a long way from the pool, and next to a very busy road. The noise is bothersome at times. They are planning to build another pool closer to that building. The staff, were nice but not capable or did not want to address any of the problems we had. Our phone could not dial 866 toll free numbers. The large plasma TV was fun to watch when it worked, but it kept turning itself on and off at random making me wish I had a regular TV in the living room instead. Neither issue was resolved durring our one week stay.

This is a great family oriented resort. It is close to everything and staff are very informed and accomodating. It is small compared to some other resorts but that is what makes it perfect. It has all the amenities without the insanity of a large resort!

We have just returned from two weeks in Orlando. Arrived at Silver Lake the day after Hurricane Charley hit - there was some damage, although nothing that appeared major. The staff at check-in were polite, efficient and friendly and later, when we discovered that the roof of our apartment was leaking, explained that they wouldn't be able to get a roofing contractor for several days, but quickly provided new pillows to replace the wet ones.

The resort appears to be well cared for and our apartment was clean and spacious. with large rooms. Everything worked and was in good condition throughout. We were told on the sales tour that these were older units and would be refurbished with more modern furnishings in the autumn. Newer units are slightly smaller I believe. The only drawback is that the living area can only seat 5 comfortably, which would be difficult if there were 8 in the 2 bedroomed unit. The resort was ideally placed for Disney, particularly if the rear exit was used. It is very secure and secluded, although very close to Hwy 192.

There is a large pool with plenty of loungers and umbrellas beside this there is a beach bar with daily specials which seemed quite reasonable. Activities are provided for children throughout the day and there is a fitness room, movie theatre, games room and internet access.

The timeshare presentation was quite low key as the saleswoman soon realised that we had what we required already so gave us a guided tour to fill up the time. We elected to have a cash gift which we spent in some of the local eating places.

I should imagine that it would be an ideal resort for family holidays - it is relatively small with the pool and all activities centrally placed. We would definitely return and recommend it to anyone.

Silver Lake is an absolutely incredible resort. I stayed there and was astounded how centrally located this resort is - just minutes from Disney World (you can see it from the resort itself), Animal Kingdom, Sea World and virtually every Orlando area resort. And, we were only 30 miles from Cocoa Beach where we could go swimming in the ocean, visit the famous Ron Jon Surf Shop, and hop up the coast to the Kennedy Space Center. The unit was clean, the staff friendly and the pool was immaculate. What a vacation! With restaurants nearby and a fully-equipped kitchen, we certainly enjoyed our eating experiences as well. Great, great resort!!

I own here and always enjoy staying. My son loves the resort activities and the pool. I bought there over ten years ago and it has only improved.

This is a very nice complex. We spend Easter week in 2003. They had a nice Easter day program with very nice gifts given to kids on a raffle basis. Easy back entrance to Disney World to keep you off the congested highway.

My wife and I stayed here for a aweek prior to going on to Fort Myers Beach - this is a superb resort where everything is either on site or very close. I would certainly stay there again.
