Well now I am going to assume that you haven't actually gone ahead with this proposal even though another post of yours said that you already did.

If that is so, I would be careful with such companies, especially when they charge "only" $1995. Some charities actually take your deed but charge closer to $3000. Some Post card companies (PCCs) charge about $3000 and up but only do the Power of Attorney (POA) trick.

Any charge less than that and the company is likely to do what many in timeshare circles call the "Viking Ship" operation. Owners who use this type of service can face consequences down the road.

If you're serious about getting rid of your timeshare, then try advertising it on resale websites that you want to give it away. That will cost less than $1995.
