I have always been able to exchange this unit for a summer unit through Interval International. When I looked at the points required for what few units were available, I would have had to pay double my points just to get into a lower tier facility. It may have been a 1 bedroom but realistically, it wasn't a true match up. I ended up getting a 1 bedroom with full kitchen in a 5 star (Interval's) resort in Williamsburg through Interval. This could be one of the reasons why the exchange program is not taking off as quickly as hoped. Value pulled for some of these units are not comparable.Hi Christine,
The valuations varying based on resort and seasonality factors, the amount of time to check-in at the point the user deposited, and several other things. If you feel there was an unjustice, please send an e-mail to our support address (support@redweek.com).
We appreciate the feedback.
Thanks, Marty
If I deposit a provisional week, will the value of my week go down as I approach my own weeks check-in date? For example, RedWeek tells me today that my July 2008 week is worth 1200 points and I do a provisional deposit for Europe in July, 2008. If my request is not honored until June of 2008 will my provisional deposit still be worth the 1200?
Hi,
If you post your week provisionally, the valuation offer you receive will STILL expire within the same 7 days. If you later want to deposit that week, you would need to submit a new valuation request, get a new offer (may very well be a lower points value than you received previously), and then make the deposit. That's why we highly recommend that owners deposit their week rather than add as provisional so that you are most likely getting a higher point value then if you wait.
Thanks, Marty
