Trust points can be bought resale. If an owner paid to join as a legacy week owner those points won't transfer with a resale.

Not only does Marriott have ROFR they also have a lot of junk fees (transfer, education, etc) to allow you to use the points in their system. Depending on the number of points you buy, the transfer and other fees can add $2500-$4500 or even more to the price the seller gets.
