Looks prominent that Federal Trade Commission lately addressed the issue on a TS resale scam: Con artists prey on victims of timeshare resale scams September 30, 2013 by Colleen Tressler Consumer Education Specialist, FTC
Con artists are trying to steal money from people by falsely claiming they are associated with the federal courts, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The imposters tell people they are entitled to refunds as part of cases brought by the FTC against companies that engaged in timeshare resale fraud. People are told they must pay several hundred dollars in court costs, processing fees or filing fees to get their refunds. The scammers may use an actual FTC case number to lend some legitimacy to their pitch. DO NOT GIVE THESE IMPOSTERS MONEY. THIS IS A SCAM. The FTC never requires consumers to pay money to get a refund. The imposters also have impersonated Florida attorneys in an effort to convince people to pay their fees.
If you get a call from someone claiming they can get you a refund for a fee, report it to the FTC. Visit Complaint Assistant or call 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357). The FTC enters complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure, online database available to more than 2,000 civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad. The FTCs website provides free information on a variety of consumer topics.

WHY IS YOUR LAWYER CONCERNED ABOUT PUTTING HIS/HER NAME OUT IN THIS FORUM? SEEMS HE/SHE MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE..............PUT THE NAME HERE; IT MIGHT (MIGHT EMPHASIZED) HELP SOME OF US IN OUR QUEST TO MAKE THE MANHATTAN CLUB A MORE AFFORDABLE PLACE, AND ONE IN WHICH DESIRABLE RESERVATIONS ARE EASIER TO GET.....OR FOR SOME, EASIER TO GET RID OF.

as far as i'm concerned, if there is a lawsuit, someone's wasting his/her time pursuing it. it failed once with a certain law team. i believe it's been referred to the same team with the same legal strategies; where's the wisdom in that? as new yorkers say: FUGGETABOUTIT! that is, unless you're an attorney with total new york timeshare/condominium EXPERTISE with a proven winning track record.
