Anyone have experience with Castle Law Group, PC out of Tennessee
mikaey wrote:Can you assist me for how I can get out of the sales contract? I do have an issue with Castle Law but the main purpose is to get out of the timeshare contract. People who have the same issue, how they resolve? I guess, I am still naïve side and can't seem to have any alternatives.
First and foremost, never pay anyone a large, upfront fee to sell, rent out, market, or "cancel" your timeshare as that is always a scam.
Secondly, what is the issue you have with Castle Law? As has been pointed out in this thread, this firm is under investigation and also many have come to this thread to report how Castle Law is scamming them.
As for your timeshare contract, you might have to provide a few more details. Do you still owe on the mortgage? Are you up to date on your maintenance fees? With which timeshare company is this? I ask this because some companies like Wyndham and Diamond have programs in place to take units back. Also, do you have a deeded timeshare or is it a Right-to-Use (RTU)? Or is it simply a vacation club where you just have a membership and don't actually own anything? If it's an RTU or vacation club, you might be able to "cancel" your timeshare contract by stopping paying fees.
If it is a deeded property, you will have to find someone to take over ownership. As said before, some companies like Wyndham and Diamond are taking back a select limited number of properties for a fee. You would have to inquire. Otherwise, try advertising here on RedWeek or other timeshare web sites such as My Resort Network, E-Bay, Craigslist, or Timeshare Users Group (aka "TUG") where they have a Bargain Deals section that allows you to advertise for free that you want to give your unit away.

Update: Castle Law called me today and asking me if I am interested in bringing a law suit against the Timeshare company. The problem is that Castle Law cannot be a representative, because the Timeshare company is in CA, not in TN. Seriously??? Now if I bring a law suit, not only I have to pay additional fee, I won't get a refund back from Castle Law, because they are "advising" to me. I quickly contacted TN Bar Association Professional Responsibility Board to report this unethical practice. In the meantime, I filed a dispute with American Express to reverse the charge. This is completely unacceptable practice as someone who has a law license.

It's rather obvious that Castle Law Group, PC is a scam. I have a question for members: Has anyone had dealings with "BEST DEFENSE", CLAIMING TO BE A LAW FIRM LOCATED IN LAKE MARY, FLORIDA? It appears to be a scam just as Castle Law Group, Mitchell Reed Sussman & Associates out of Palm Springs, CA. Also, any feedback on Timeshare Cures, LLC (Branson, MO)

I have all kinds of information on these companies, but I don't think I can comment here...

Predictably, as annual maintenance fee bill season approaches, there is increased interest in the (far too many) parasitic, upfront fee "escape / relief / exit / rescue" operations.
Let's cut right to the chase here. Very simply stated, there are *NO* (lawful) magical exits from a legally binding contractual obligation into which someone once voluntarily CHOSE to enter of their own free will. There are NO secret processes or elixirs or fairy dust that can ever deny or somehow magically overcome that simple and straightforward legal fact.
"A fool and his money are soon parted". Pursue a deedback with the resort, or decide to just stop paying and face foreclosure, but anyone who foolishly pays upfront money to ANY parasite operation in the futile hope of achieving a non-existent "magical exit" from a legally binding obligation they CHOSE to enter will lose (and maybe deserves to lose) their money.

Susan, Are you talking about Castle Law Group in TN? or some other law firm that you paid a fee and they did nothing? If this is Castle Law, file a complaint with Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibilities. The link is http://www.tbpr.org/for-the-public/file-complaint. My complaint has been filed and they opened a case. Castle Law responded to my complaints and I responded back to them. I am still waiting for their next move. It's been more than 15 days since my responses were sent. It's been an interesting development so far since Castle Law hired another lawyer to defend them.

Add me to the list of suckers that sent Castle money. Haven’t heard a thing, called Wednesday and they say they aren’t taking calls anymore. To email some stupid email address. I sent an email to T.J. if that’s a real person. Have still heard nothing.
I got in this position when I lost job had just built a new house and something had to go. I’m working now, but not making near the money I was. What do I do now?

Check up-thread about where you can report this so-called law firm. I believe you can file a complaint with the TN Attorney-General.
As for your timeshare, you can try contacting the resort's Homeowners' Association and ask if it will take your unit back. Explain your situation. Perhaps mention, in no uncertain terms, that you are not paying another penny in maintenance fees (except maybe to negotiate a deed back) and that it would in the HOA's best interests to take your unit back amicably rather than go through the foreclosure process.
You can also advertise here on RedWeek or other venues that you want to give your unit away. Maybe offer to pay closing costs and possibly even the next maintenance fee as an incentive for the new taker. But, as you and many others have found out the hard way, never pay anyone a large, upfront fee to sell or "cancel" your timeshare.

saram280 wrote:Check the Better Buisness Bureau for reputable companies that can help you. There’s a lot of haters on here. I’ve done background checks on the bullies and that’s why I don’t come on here anymore. Linx Legal is a good company
For the record, BBB is a paid membership organization --- nothing more. The absence of a large number of BBB complaints means absolutely nothing in terms of a business entity's actual effectiveness or reliability. In truth, having few (or no) filed formal BBB complaints could simply indicate that a "company" just hasn't yet been around long enough to have amassed too many unresolved complaints. When they do, many just simply change their name and restart their game anew with a different identity and a new BBB membership.
After 35+ years of extensive legal and considerable timeshare experience, I have never even heard of "Linx Legal". Not once. Not ever. Curious, I just quickly looked at their web site (brand new, established in 2017). What I found truly strange (besides the very vague, fuzzy and completely uninformative description of whatever is they do), was the final line on the web page, which states: "We are not a law firm / attorneys". So.... they use the word "Legal" in their name, but they are NOT a law firm and they are NOT attorneys. Say WHAT now?
Saram280, you have been previously exposed (and warned by RedWeek moderators) for trying to use these discussion forums to solicit business for your own personal "timeshare escape" commercial endeavor, located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I must also point out that you clearly have insufficient information to have ever conducted "background checks" on ANY RedWeeek forum participant. You do not (and you could not) ever even know anyone's full name here, so that bogus claim (although quite amusing) is just complete and utter nonsense.
By the way, being "exposed" is a whole lot different from being "bullied". What you now lamely attempt to portray as being "a victim of bullying", I would instead characterize as having simply been "the subject of consumer warnings". For the record, exposing false or questionable claims is not "hating" either. Exposing false or questionable claims or solicitations is just simply educating and protecting consumers. Big difference.
I will look forward to NOT seeing more nonsense, solicitations or self-serving bogus "endorsements" from you in these RedWeek discussion forums. If you persist in presenting bogus claims or self-serving shill "endorsements", rest assured that you will continue to be promptly exposed. Accurate facts and the truth will ultimately prevail here. Just the same, Happy Holidays!

Let's get the facts straight and not sugar coat it . There are a lot of SCAMMERS that come into the forum to promote their SCAMS through shills posing as satisfied customers or savvy consumer advocates . Saram280 is a known predator in the forum promoting business for herself and companies she deals with in her timeshare marketing business . I reported her again to Redweek for this suspicious post .
NEVER Pay anyone money upfront that claims they can get you out of your contract !! Especially be wary of a company that someone is promoting in a free forum .

I filed a complaint with Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. In the meantime, I disputed a credit card payment with American Express. Normally, you can only dispute within 60 days, but I did anyway. Board of Professional Responsibility opened my file and they had been communicating with me and Castle Law. In the meantime, whenever I got a letter from the Board, I sent a copy to American Express showing that there may be a disciplinary action against Castle Law. It took about 2 months, but I finally got a letter from American Express saying that they did own investigation and they credit the amount of $3,500. It was well worth the try. Although my original problem of getting out of Timeshare has not been resolved, at least I can use $3,500 to do something. Please do as I did, file a complaint against Castle Law and contact the Board of Professional Responsibility. There is an online form that you can file, but if not, fax # is (615) 367-2480. Any information you have should be clearly stated. Good luck.

Well done and congratulations! Calvin Coolidge (former Vermont governor and U.S. President) once observed that "Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent". Your persistence has clearly yielded some positive results for you. Castle Law Group actually has BIGGER problems now, having been named as defendants in several different lawsuits in Federal court in recent months. Judson Phillips is now headed for a day of legal reckoning.
I trust that you now know that paying money to some obscure entity will NEVER get you out of a timeshare ownership. It's time for you to pursue a "deedback" or a "giveaway" --- or maybe just simply walk away and allow foreclosure to inevitably occur. In any event, understand clearly that there are NO magic beans, elixirs or secret exit processes, so please don't pony up any more money to ANY OTHER upfront fee "exit / escape" parasites either.

Yes, I learned the lesson in a hard way. Since the seller is located in the same state as I live and very close, I am looking into bringing them to a small claim court. However, I really have to have a good strategy and again, persistence. In the end, they really misrepresented to me for the benefits I can get, plus no explanations about "negative" outcome. That is a clearly fraud to me.
