Anyone have experience with Castle Law Group, PC out of Tennessee
Jeff,
I just read your response and actually got nothing from it. I am a client of yours and would like to speak to someone regarding getting out of my timeshare. From my perspective, your firm has done nothing more than steal my $3,000.00. After receiving the letter showing disengagement of your firm from "Castle Marketing" and myself I am very concerned. I tried calling but your voice mail message refers all inquiries to an email address. I sent an email but still had no response. In fact, I believe that Castle Law Group and Castle Marketing are really one in the same and that this is nothing more than a scheme to steal money from people who want to get out of these rip off time shares. I find it interesting that the phone # for Castle Marketing and Castle Law Group are one in the same. The name you are looking for is James & Lisa McCabe. Please call us immediately, you have the number. If I do not hear from you within 72 hours regarding the refund of my money, I will retain the services of a real attorney and sue you and the entire firm for my $3,000.00 plus damages. If you think this is an empty threat, think again. I already spoke to an attorney and he is chomping at the bit to come after you.

No offense, but you apparently missed the post by former Castle employee LauraB indicating that Jeff Johnson has actually been gone from "Castle Law Group" for around two years now. Accordingly, he is highly unlikely to see (or care about) a belated threat of legal action expressed in a timeshare discussion forum.
You have apparently also missed posts disclosing that Castle Law Group is already named in at least three separate Federal lawsuits in Florida, so the attorney that you claim is allegedly "chomping at the bit to go after them" would have to take a number and get in line while he does his "chomping" (on your dime).
It is certainly your prerogative to threaten and / or initiate any action you choose, but rest assured that the money you unwisely provided upfront to Castle Law Group is not ever going to be willingly or voluntarily returned to you.

On February 17,2017 we paid $3500 to this law group to have our timeshare canceled. Up to this day they have not contacted me even once to let us know what has happened. I’ve tried contacting them and now only a machine with a pre recorded message answers and ends the call. Do Not Do Business with them. It seems now it’s a scam. I have 5 little ones and cannot afford to keep losing money.

There are 22 pages of posts about this group in this thread, covering several years. Have you bothered to read any of those many posts here about Castle Law Group? Make the small effort to do so and you will very plainly see for yourself that:
1. There is no "luck" with Castle Law Group, nor will there be any "luck" in the future.
2. Castle Law Group has now essentially shut down its' upfront fee exit operation.
3. Castle Law Group (and its' principal Judson Phillips) are currently being sued in Federal court in Florida by several different entities.
Enough said. Do you really need or want to know any more than that?

Paid this company 18 months ago and I have not heard anything from them in months. You can't call them as the voicemail says to email them. I'm still paying on my timeshare even though it was suggested that if i stop paying them that it might speed up the process a little. When i was able to speak to someone, all they did is say that someone will call you back. That call back took at least 2 weeks but only after threatening them with legal action.

I don't think these people are at all impressed or influenced by "threats of legal action" by individuals at this point. They are currently being sued in at least three separate lawsuits in Federal court in Florida by big corporations with very deep pockets. Individual complaints are now so far back toward the end of a long line that such individuals plainly have a faint and barely audible voice at this juncture.

I do not know to whom your question is actually directed, but options include:
1. Negotiate directly with the resort HOA to pursue a "deedback".
2. Attempt to give the timeshare away for free (maybe even offer to pay all closing costs and transfer fees yourself to entice a recipient). Timeshare Users Group (http://www.tug2.net) has a "Bargain Deals" forum where you can offer unwanted timeshare weeks.
3. You can stop paying all fees and at some point foreclosure will inevitably occur.

nicoler375 wrote:What exactly is a "deedback" and do you get any money from doing it?
A deed back is when an owner contacts the resort (or more specifically, the resort's Homeowners' Association) to see if it will accept the owner's unit back. Some HOAs will, some won't. It doesn't hurt to ask. However, you will not get any money back for it. In fact, some will even charge the owner some sort of fee to do so. These fees are usually between $250-1000.
The advantage of this is that you do not have to deal with a shady law firm like CLG. You deal directly with the resort for a clean, legal transfer.

Can anyone help me please. We are English and bought Mystic Dunes in 2001 and because like many others the cost of the maintenance fees are going to make it an issue as I have now retired and my husband will retire next year. I am going to speak to the home resort to ask if it is possible to give back our deeded timeshare. I notice American families have done this but does anyone know if anyone from England has done this? It is a shame to let it go but on a pension cannot afford to have this rising cost year on year.
Many thanks for your help.

Deedback policies vary among resorts (and the policy can change at any time, even at the same resort) but residency of the timeshare owner is generally not much of a factor in HOA policies on "deedbacks".
You will have to contact your resort HOA directly to obtain current and accurate information "right from the horse's mouth" regarding their deedback policy and practices. The fact that you reside outside of the U.S. means that the resort has no "collections" leverage if you simply stopped paying your fees (and the HOA certainly knows this) so that might work in your favor Good luck.

I have read this entire thread and I have a couple of questions. 1. I have had a timeshare for over 15 years and now all of the sudden are getting calls and emails from two other companies that do the same thing as what castle appears to do. a company called timeshare exit team is blowing my email up with crap and wesley financial group keeps calling me. How do I get them to stop and leave me alone. They are making all sorts of claims. I checked their facebooks because thats how they claim that I requested information. I have never even given them a thought until now. Wesley claims that their owner fought in federal court on behalf of timeshare owners and he also claims to be the godfather of timeshare, seriously, he has a video on his site. 2. Why and how do all these companies stay in business legally?
