Impossible to sell or even give away this Gem?
Trade your week in to RCI and go wherever you want to. I have blue time and when I trade it in I usually get red time. Went to France for a week. Love it there. Vince

Chill out, and enjoy what you have...you USA people should be ashamed of yourselves...Ask the Christie lodge to take your time shares from you, I am sure they will agree, as there are more deserving people , who would give there right arm to stay there.Response -- FYI the timeshare I refer to is not a prime week. Apparently that is the problem, but please no more lectures.
I did ask the Christie Lodge once if the timeshare could just be given back to them and they said no, they said to try to sell it on an internet site.

We have owned at Christie Lodge for thirty years, red summer 3 bedroom. We requested a exchange for our 50 Anniversary, but we're told the week we requested was a.white week one week from our red week, so we had to pay RCI to search. I asked for the Board of Directors contact info, but was never given the list. Beware of this mgt co.

I have the same problem as the original guy....We no longer ski so we haven't been in quite a while. We exchange through RCI but many of the places we want to go do not have Resorts, ie, big cities, historical locations, quiet get away from it all places!
We have a Red Winter, best time available, and wasn't able to even give it away, so we just pay the huge maintenance fee and count it a loss.

I still receive alerts when this thread is posted on, so I though I would update since I noticed that my previous messages have been deleted (not by me...maybe by someone from Redweek or Christie Lodge??)
Not too long after posting over three years ago I realized that despite all of my efforts on this site and any others (Luckily I only paid one of the myriad of scammer "advertisement" companies a fee of around $500 about 13-14 years ago to sell it but of course that didn't work) that this thing was never going to sell. I even tried to give it away and had one or two interested parties but ultimately they just backed out. FInally, I contacted Christie Lodge and PAID THEM something in the neighborhood of $2000 to just take the thing off of my hands (a summer Red Week). There is a lot of paperwork but at least I know it is legal and no one can ever come back after me again for the outrageous management fee. My sense at the time was they didn't like this fact advertised too widely, but of course there will probably b some other foolish consumer to buy in like I did.
I am surprised that anyone with a winter peak week would have as much trouble as I did but the fact is that Christie Lodge and most of the other Timeshare companies (and their marketing/sales arms) prey on people's ignorance about this entire industry. I was young and dumb and there wasn't the information about timeshares on the Internet that there is now so that you can research. There is a reason that they have the "3-day no cost backout" clause in most states for timeshares. Despite what I was "sold" on at the time, they are NOT an investment, they cannot be traded as easily as you think, and when you add up all of the trading and management fees, you would be better off just Pricelining a hotel.
Good luck to all owners who wish to free themselves from the Timeshare shackles like I did. Go through the timeshare directly, it will cost you a lot less in the long run.

Christie Lodge has been a scam for over 20 years now and continues to be. I hope this thread will be useful for the young and ignorant to the timeshare trap. Look back through this thread and see those touting how amazing this resort is, or how it was supposed to be sold in 2016 for $30M+ and all the owners were going to make a fortune. The deception rolls on: https://vacationownershipconsultants.com/highlands-resorts-another-christie-lodge-vendor-sued-for-sales-deception/

Hi Roy,
I recently took over a ski week at Christie lodge. It was very easy a couple forms for each party to sign and a $75 change fee for the new title.
Good luck! Jenn Ritchie
