However, a minimum commission for such a real estate agent is likely $1,500 -- $2,000 (a figure which is obviously problematic if the timershare involved is not even worth that much to begin with).

I have been looking into selling my worldmark timeshare for a couple of weeks now. I was contacted by a couple different people but buyatimeshare.com really caught my attention. After hearing their spill I was intrigued but wanted to make sure. I looked them up on the Better Business Buearu (sp?) and they are not members. When I asked about this they told me that they are not members because they are an online company and the online better business buearu is who they are listed with (never heard of em). So I looked that up and you can PURCHASE a good standing with them. Also I asked about their Licensing (because you need a real estate license to sell timeshares) He said he DIDNT NEED ONE. At that point he told me that they usually list timeshares for $799 and they were having a deal right now for $599, BUT because he had a broker that dealed specifically with worldmark all I would have to pay is $145 (not bad right? haha). Also during his spill he told me that their title company was called transferatimesharetitle.com (coincidence in the name? I think NOT).
The guy I spoke to was a smooth talkin guy who had his answers rehearsed and he would continually interupt me when I had questions, and he didn't even try to answer all of my questions he was more concerned with a document that he wanted signed RIGHT AWAY.....
Needless to say I wont be calling them back. STAY AWAY FROM sellatimeshare.com aka Vacation Property Resale.

Absolutely true, actually. NO ONE needs a license for timeshare resales, regardless of the state involved. People sell their own timeshares every day of the week, for example. It is also neither illegal nor uncommon for a company to have its' own "in house" closing services.
That said, Vacation Property Resales is indeed a pack of thieves, so at least your ultimate conclusion is correct. Vacation Property Resales is also currently under investigation by the Attorney General in Florida.

Yes, I know; my property has been listed for close to a year and once I signed papers I have not heard from them; occassionally I would call and check and i get the story on date property was showed. I just don't believe this is true. If i had a chance to do it again; i would NOT.

That's putting it mildly .... some timeshare weeks can't even be given away.

Can anyone tell me if they heard of Timeshare Market Pro-Davie, FA or Nationwide Resorts Inc-Delray FA. (closing company)? All the other upfront scam companies would not send you any documents upfront, but Nationwide Resorts Inc. sent me a contract, but once again they want money for closing costs/check only now??? Can someone also give me a phone number to call for more info. I have called the Citizens Services number, not alot of help. The Attorney General Fraud number no longer works?

The only way to get rid of a timeshare these days is to pay a corp. to take it off your hands, before timeshare company hits you up with a special assessments for weather damage old age replacement, ect.. We got hit with a special asssessment for $1,600.00 on top of the $750.00 yearly maintenance. You talk about a very expensive vacation we could not afford to take. Get rid of the millstone. No more scams.

Why would they need money for closing costs? The buyer is responsible for that. If the buyer wants it in the deal that you, the seller, pay the closing costs, YOU choose the closing company of YOUR choice and then send the money to that closing company --- not Nationwide Resorts. If NR does not agree to that, it is a scam.

kingofthecanal wrote:Sound enough advice. I'd also point out (...once again) that Vacation Property Resales has been publicly named as a target of investigation by the Florida Attorney General's office. No company deserves that attention more, in my personal opinion (which is based upon personal knowledge and experience with this particular company).Never ever give an up front fee
P.S. I don't know why the topic of Vacation Property Resales was started under this Timeshare Exchanges forum, since neither the company nor its' practices have ANYTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the subject of "exchanging". In any event, the bottom line is that Vacation Property Resales is a pack of thieves --- and one which I hope will NOT survive investigation and subsequent action (...hopefully including criminal prosecution) by the Florida Attorney General.

(also mr.Manuel Parado) Though my husband gave them our credit card #,I cancelled the account....so hopefully this won't go further.....what awful , creepy people!
What you STILL need to do is FORMALLY DISPUTE that charge with the credit card issuer. If you don't, you're just going to see that (authorized) charge on the forthcoming bill for that (now cancelled) credit card!

A few months back I was in really desperate straights. These morons came in out of the blue and said they could sell my timeshare (which was charging me an additional $1500 for renovations- Wonderful!). They seemed to know alot about it and said they had buyers already lined up. Issue was they wanted $1100 up front. Yeah, I know. Dumb move but was not thinking right back then. Paid it and saw the "closing date" move 7 times in the last 8 months.
In finally (a bit late!) doing some research I found what I should have looked at 8 months ago. These guys are scam artists of the sleaziest variety and should be avoided at all costs.
The biggest sleaze-bag of all is a guy by the name of George Leonard. Great and weasily sales criminal! He also hates to get pohone calls. I figure for $1100 I can jam up his phones forever. Yes, childish but since I've given up on this clown selling the thing, it's all I have less.

I too was taken in by VPR to the tune of $851.00 then later on they tried to get more money out of my CC to ther tune of $600.00. They sent me a contract saying that they had a buyer for my property at $14,000 +. That was in Nov 2010 and they said it would close by Dec 2010. It did not close and I was put off for 6 months saying that it was in closing and that there was a problem. The person I delt with was a LaVenda Henson Lic # TC3363, she is no longer with the co. I was cursed out by a Jason Hamilton, lied to by Dave Krouse and Anthoney musgo. Each and every time I call, if I can get a live person, they say that so and so is not in or on another line. Have not been able to talk to anyone for over a month.

When all is said and done, it can only be hoped that these maggots known as Vacation Property Resales are driven out of business, out of existence --- AND prosecuted.
