Well they have no buyer and you can forget about getting someone to answer you in 2 to 3 weeks. Your money is gone, and you have been taken, by a bunch of bottom feeding scum. Sorry for you loss.

Absolutely correct. There was no buyer before, there is no "new potential buyer" now --- and there will be no buyer at any point in the future. You can call back in 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years, but you will never hear from these people again. In fact, they will likley be out of business and long gone, operating under an entirely new name before this new year is even over. Sorry, but you've quite simply been "had" and your "upfront fee" is indeed likely gone forever.

We learned about these scams the hard way with Premier Timeshare Solutions. We did end up getting our money back from them but it took 6 weeks of calling almost every day, filing police reports, complaints with the BBB, the FL dept. of ag. and consumer services, the Attorney General's office etc. Anyway< we had already given money to icaretimeshare before them> The difference is, Premier wasn't as good at covering up the illegal aspects of their contract. I think icare has found a loophole to continue scamming people. One thing they cannot do according to FL law is to tell you they have a buyer and require an upfront fee. If they do that, they are not just marketing your timeshare (which they can do) but are selling it (which they can't do because they are not a realtor). I called the FL dept. of agriculture and consumer services to find this out. Unfortunately, we were not told they had a buyer so I think we're just out our money. We signed up with them a year ago so don't think our credit card company can do anything about it unless I can prove it's a scam. We were told by premier timeshare solutions that they had a buyer so after we threatened to tape the conversation, we finally got our money back. Now I want to see if I can pursue icare but am not quite sure how.

Most of the timeshare resellers are bigger scammers than the developers. Don't ever, ever, (did I say ever) give anybody money up front to sell your timeshare. It will always be a scam. List it here and be patient or put it up for sale on E-Bay. Just don't expect to get anywhere near what you paid for it.

Well, they continue to tell prospective clients that they have a buyer .... why haven't the scammers been put out of business ... why are the Florida agencies that supposedly protect the consumer letting these scams run rampant ????????? They evidently have the agencies in their pockets with payoffs.

Government agencies really cannot be expected to locate and shut down every illegitmate group that pops up and scams the consumer. These places open and close faster than breakouts on a teenager's face. Should they be more aggressive in their enforcement? Yes, they should, especially when it comes to protecting those who cannot protect themselves because of age, infirmity or a lack of education. But it is equally important that consumers wise up and educate themselves. There are a lot of resources available to all of us today with the internet: USE them, read, listen, become aware. THINK, don't enter into contracts over the phone, ask for the contract and read it before you agree to its terms and give them your credit card number. "Let the buyer beware" has always been a truism-- don't forget it because someone promises you something that is too good to be true.

They are a complete RIP OFF the state of Fl does not regulate or give a crap what these companies do I know I worked for them for 10 years ripping people off and dropping prices just to get your credit card number and you will never get a stright answer on a refund because your NOT going to get one EVER!!! NOandI mean NO company who is legit will ever ask for money unless they sell your timeshare first then they take their cut out of the purchacing price. NOBODY including their clients go to their office because they are in the gettos of florida and opperate next to strip clubs and in back rooms so to the person whosaid they went their.....How long have you been working for the idiots??????. PLEASE NEVER SELL YOUR TIMEHARE UNLESS YOU LIST IT IN YOUR LOCAL PAPER>>>>>NEVER OVER THE PHONE AND ESPECIALLY NOT iCARE.

And that's the very reason I post everyday on this forum ... to inform readers of all the timeshare scams out there ESPECIALLY upfront fee resale scam companies.

I actually got my money back because I went through my credit card company. My Havasu property actually is great and we use our points to go places we would have never visited.
My credit card companies were great. There were actually 3 involved. The first 2 were to a scam called Premiere Timeshare Solutions. They went under before the 1st of the year. Then icare calls right before Christmas with the bad news and willing to use their lawyers to get my funds back and they actually found 2 additional weeks on the title search (that's a total of 5 weeks). Last week I got a call from ecare asking me why I disputed the charges and they had to tear up 3 checks that were made out to me. WoW. Then she came back with now they could get this all recaptured if I wanted to. All I would have to do is do a check by phone. I said if you make your money through the financing process, (which I was told by Craig the supposed owner of icare) then why do you need my money if you already have the title info, people to buy. She hung up. My cost would have been over 5,000. I was the clock and made sure my credit cards would cover if the thing went belly up.

This is all just a bunch of BS trying to get you to re-up with them again.

My wife got a message from these people. Thanks, jayjay, for the info. I'm telling her not to deal with these people. If it's the scam it looks like, perhaps we should report them to the attorney general's office--they told her they have a buyer. Recording someone's voice without permission is illegal in Florida (even the cops can't without a warrant), but I'd love to get them to agree to be recorded...heh, heh, heh...
