Vallarta Gardens Timeshare Scam
The timeshare presentation was one thing, I would just say not pleasant, we do a tour, i like the beach from a restaurant, a pool, a massage area. Maybe, my disgust would be the presentation of the timeshare aand how they managed the place, at first it confused me the saleman said things included and in the end not, just believe the contract you sign and enjoy your stay, I hope it helps:) kisses

Resort and rooms are very nice. The nicest I have ever stayed in. only negative is that you pretty much need a cab to go anywhere. Which we did often because there is only one active restaurant. We didn't mind because it is a very quick cab ride to sayulita, punta mita, La Cruz, Nuevo, and Bucerias. It probably would be the same to rent a car for the week as it was to use cabs. We never were asked once to buy or participate in a timeshare presentation. The place sells itself.

I received a call and it was obviously very good to be true, a fairy tale. I went to the presentation (horrible), they gave us a tour of the place and not for nothing is Garden. the fesh air. I stay here despite all the bad things I saw in internet; many things are exaggerated. Maybe the administration was terrible before, I don't know, I just say it, I guess. There are some constructions but I hope they finish soon.

Very modern, clean, friendly, and quiet. This property keeps up with peak time guest demands. Vallarta Gardens is a beautiful resort in La Cruz. The villas are big and modern. Three pools. There is a gym and the outdoor massages are great. 1 problem... the timeshare presentation, was too long, the place is great why you have to do that?

We purchased through miguel and he could not have been better! We are very happy that we made the decision to join vg! We were exceptionally impressed with the staff and the cleanliness of the grounds. The gardens and landscaping on the grounds is stunning! We cant wait to see the new construction (bar, gym, spa) when we return. We have made lifelong friends and made memories while on excursions. It is clear that vg management and staff takes pride in the resort! We wish we could have stayed longer! We cant thank them enough as well as the rest of the vg staff! See you all soon!

We were told that we had purchased an ocean view penthouse. When we arrived we were located a 15 minute walk to the back of the property and across a muddy field to reach our "reef" unit. The a/c in the unit next door was not working so we had workers coming in and out of our deck for two days. Ocean view? if you are on your tiptoes looking over the grill maybe... Check in was a disaster.

We (myself and 5 other family members) stayed at house 48 and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The amenities (hot tub, grill, sun deck) on the top of our house alone were enough to satisfy our every need, but the nearby bar and pool (right outside our villa) were icing on the cake. The staff was incredibly friendly.
The resort itself was incredibly impressive and includes a state of the art workout facility, tennis courts, pristine beaches, easy/beautiful walk to the fishing piers, and incredible pools. The restaurant has seating right on the beach and we took full advantage of that every day.
We typically come down to PV every winter at some point and stay in the city, however this newly discovered get away will be our primary choice when visiting from now on. Away from all the hustle and bustle you can actually relax here and let your worries float away.

I wonder where Gina was. Certainly not in Vallarta Gardens. We have stayed in both ocean front villa and the Reef unit which is a 5-minute walk through beautiful gardens and pools. There are no muddy fields at all. As for air conditioning, each unit has own air conditioner so cannot understand how workers would walk across her deck for 2 days. We love Vallarta Gardens and look forward to going back.

Has anyone tried just not paying them? We were also told lies, but as you said, what we signed did not include these lies (we were told we would get 2-4 weeks trade value at other resorts, we were also told we could rent our timeshare and get our money back). I got home to discover these things were not even close to being true. We are now freaking out because a collection agency called Monterey Financial in LA is calling us. What to do? Can they hurt us?

Cynthia, no one is saying that Vallarta Gardens is not a nice place to stay. It’s very nice. It is the timeshare presentation and lies that they tell you that are a problem. For instance, they say that you can trade your week for 2-4 weeks anywhere else. Not true! When I tried it, all I could get was 1-2 days for our week. They also told us that we could rent our place and get our money back through their associates called PILA. Again, not true but they try to suck a lot more money out of you. Horrible. Panda and another Richardo. Very much a bully situation and they dont even allow you any food or drink for hours. If you say you’re leaving they say “you got free 5 days! You are required to stay”.

All you'll face is a barrage of collection calls and letters but those can be ignored. A lot of times these collection calls can threaten you but they can't take any real action. On Timeshare Users Group's public forum, there are some threads about people not paying and defaulting on their Mexican timeshares. For the most part, nothing serious has happened to them. For a few, they just faced a drop in their credit score.

We were also scammed by the salesman who told us that they would sell our timeshare at Mayan Palace and the payment would more than cover what we were buying at VG. When we started getting daily calls from Kentucky, which eventually became abusive, because of their constancy, and sent $ for escrow payments, we stopped everything and changed our phone number. At this point we are stuck and are going to just try to use it for trading purposes to other locales. We are done with attending presentations. Puerto Vallarta is booming. Now with the internet you can book a room anywhere and don't have to look for deals. We were also suckered by Ms. Eva who must be a very rich woman since she drives a lamb to slaughter every day of the year to VG. Joanne

Vallarta Gardens Scam My wife and I booked an all-inclusive resort with Grand Riviera Resorts (Edgar Perez), and I had to prepay before he would book it, which was supposed to be at a resort in Playa del Carmen for five nights. Edgar called me and told me they didn’t have any availability, so he booked me the Occidental in Nuevo Vallarta, and we were ok with that because we had stayed at Paradise Village before which was just a couple blocks away. We had to cancel a couple times in 2020 because of Covid. We rebooked for Jan. 22-27, 2021, and a few days before arrival, Vallarta Gardens called for flight details so they could pick us up at the airport. I called Edgar, asking why it wasn’t Occidental, he said it is, it’s the same thing. We arrived on the 22nd, and no one was there waiting for us with our name. We took a taxi to Vallarta Gardens, and it was not the Occidental. I called for a taxi the next day and the Concierge asked where we were going and I told her we were going downtown for shopping and browsing, she said the taxis weren’t running until 11:00. We had to walk about a half mile out of the resort and get our own taxi downtown. On the 25th we had to go to their timeshare presentation as part of the package deal with Grand Riviera, our presenter was William Castro. They tell you it’s a 90 minute timeshare presentation, it was four hours. At the end of the presentation we told them we were not interested, so they told me I have two options, either buy the timeshare or leave the resort. I told him we will leave, then he told me I needed to pay for the three nights I had already stayed, and I told him I already paid Grand Riviera. My wife and I went back to the room and packed our bags and carried them a half mile up the road to leave the resort. When we got up there the guy would not let us leave, so when the door opened I walked out, and he blocked my wife from leaving, then I grabbed her bag and pulled it out of his hands, he grabbed my wife’s arm and she pulled away. On the street there was a vendor selling pineapples, and I asked her to call us a taxi, the guy followed us out and called the police. When the policeman arrived he didn’t speak English, so we tried to tell our story, but he was not understanding. After about 20 minutes the guy said we could leave. Then the policeman said the taxi could take us, so we went to Paradise Village and we had to pay them for two nights until our flight home on the 27th. I checked my bank account and Vallarta Gardens had charged my credit card $2,481, plus $253.91, and my debit card $253.91. I did not authorize any of these charges. When we first arrived at Vallarta Gardens, they told us that they need a credit card to put on hold for any incidentals, or charges. I gave them my debit card first and he said it needed to be a credit card, that’s how they had both my cards to charge both of them. They told us at the presentation that they are not a timeshare, they are a gentlemens club. Paradise Village and everyone else told us that’s because they lost their credentials and they are fraudulent. After googling Vallarta Gardens, I read all the scam stories and lies they tell, a lot of their stories are just like ours. Grand Riviera Resorts is just as crooked as Vallarta Gardens, and I want my $2,000 back from them as well.
