Manhattan Club Lawsuit
Contact all TMC owners of record and make them aware of the Attorney General's investigation.
We can change the direction of the Manhattan Club investigation if 5,000 people call and write the AG, the City Councillors, the NYC Public Advocate and the Mayor.
1. We are hiring an expert to "data mine" from the internet based on the NYS ACRIS Real Estate Records contact info for all TMC owners.
2. We are exploring taking out ads in Timeshare listservs, websites, magazines, etc. with information about the AG's investigation of TMC.
3. We are asking all owners when in residence at TMC to make other TMC owners aware of the fraud investigation of TMC.
4. We ask all owners to post, blog, write reviews etc. on the internet worldwide informing the public of the Manhattan Timeshare Scam.
5. We ask owners to pursue any and all publicity in whatever media to expose the Manhattan Club Scam operation.

Please supply the contact info for the AG, City Counselors, NYC Public Advocate and Mayor.
It would be wise to supply letters to each of the above so that owners could just copy and paste. You'll get more people to participate.
I believe there is some type of Petition-style social media page. If anyone knows of it, please advise.

i was informed by a reliable source of the following: if you want to use THE MANHATTAN CLUB (make reservations) your maintenance fees must be paid and up to date; this includes real estate taxes. whether or not the MC has the authority to impose monetary penalties on those who decide not to pay maintenance is a vague issue to which i cannot comment on. also it is my understanding that the MC CANNOT foreclose on non-payment of maintenance fees at this time.
check further by calling this fraud MC and asking outright of the above. i believe they must give you unbiased information.

I certainly appreciate this info, but need a little more clarity. What are the numbers after the names. We could write them each the same letter. I would be happy to help get a letter together for posting (after christmas). Maybe we need to start an email admin team. I can write and strategize, but have trouble with blogs and anything more technical than cut and paste.

I EMAILED DE BLASIO WEEKS AGO...TO DATE: NO RESPONSE. HE'S SEEMS TOO BUSY MAKING EXCUSES ABOUT WHY HE'S OFTEN LATE FOR IMPORTANT ENGAGEMENTS AND PROCEEDINGS.
Chris V.
You're not going to get a response. It's going to be the volume of letters on the same subject that will get their attention. If I could see the court order, I could post a letter for everyone to send. If anyone has it, please post it.

WOW - I am glad I didn't buy into this timeshare when it was first offered. I thought it to be way too expensive...and you could get a nice hotel room for the same cost and not have to pay maintenance fees. THINK the Liberals in NY would care about your problems? hahahahaha They could care less. Hopefully the AG is better than the mayor and governor. GOOD LUCK everyone - hope you get your money back!

helen, your're among the luckier and probably smarter people who didn't fall for the fraud and lies perpetrated by the MC developers (who directed their sales staff to follow their evil tactics). i hope that in the near (legal) future, these evil, fraudulent, lying rotters will pay dearly for their past despicable deeds. fyi, i'm one of the unlucky and less smart people who fell for the MC LINE OF CRAP. (excuse the expletive , but it's quite fitting for the issue.)

We are an owner. I didn't notice the problem until this year, as we have usage on even years only. This was really unfair, as I called months in advance only to be told there was no availability, then was placed on waiting lists. I got a call on a Friday of availability on the next day, and like an idiot took it. Of course I could not give it away or rent it at this late hour. So, I'm really steaming about this.

While, I agree it is difficult to get a room. I have a junior suite and you can not get a room in Manhattan with 2 full baths for the same price. I price my room at approx $400.00/night (maintenance fees divided by 7 nights). In my opinion, once we get the reservation situation straightend out, we will be in good shape.
Cynthia S.
Cynthia, to base the value of your Manhattan Club investment solely upon the ongoing cost of maintenance fees, is to obviate any funds invested at purchase for your timeshare. Don't you think original acquisition costs, taxes, etc are all real money and represent the true degree of benefit/scandal here?
In addition to our ongoing annual maintenance, etc. costs, most of us paid an additional $25,000. or so for that junior suite.
So, if you were to "enjoy" this timeshare for say the next 25 years you can add $1,000. to your actual cost for that $400 per night week. Oh, and your MC maintenance fees have no cap and will continue to escalate.

"when discovery starts".........................the nys ag simply refuses to offer his constituents and other MANHATTAN CLUB owners regular information as to the progress of his legal proceedings against the club. it would take a minute or two for one of the ag's deputies to compose a sentence: "in discovery phase; no progress to date" or something similar. but no...........he continues to keep us in the dark. having power is a formidable gift.

Any changes forced on the Eicher controlled Association and URBAN will benefit us all and return value to our units if they can actually be reserved. When discovery starts this will be really interesting.

Yes, I agree with your math. The timeshare came to me by a transfer of assets from a family member, so I didn't pay the 25k. I apologize...I shouldn't have mentioned it. However, I still think there is value in the boutique hotel. I like the location, I like the "club-style" atmosphere and I love having 2 full baths. I'm willing to put a few hours into getting this straightened out. Who's with me?
