point rental liquidators

I am an attorney in New York who was taken in this scam. For me, it was very similar with a few changes. I got a phone call for an update on my bankrupt time share. I owned a time share in Greene County, NY that went bankrupt after 5 years due to suspcious activity of the owners. I met them at a Cheesecake Factory and was told that if I sold my old bankrupt timeshare to a company in Tennesee that they would reduce the price from 27K to 10.5K. I got 40K bonus points and 50K points (give or take) a year for SHR. I was also suppose to get a free one year membership with RCI. I was to get my first check in April, 2013 for the 40K and a check in July 2013 for the 50K. That because of a lawsuit settlement with RCI that they were making this one time deal and I had to make a decision that day subject to a period of recission. Because I could unload my bankrupt timeshare and rent out the timeshare so I can pay for the old bankrupt timeshare that is still on my HELOC, I agreed. I got a letter from the Tenn. company to give over ownership to my timeshare. It seems OK. However RCI has no account for me; I have no points; never got a check from PRL. The 1-855 number was never answered and did not get a call back. I talked with the named person from SHR. I have put in for a chargeback from the RCI credit card given at the time & will submit a complaint to the NY attorney General. I wondering if anyone can give me any advice how else to proceed from here and I will promise to provide any updates to this thread so other people can get their money back. Particularly I would like to talk with anyone who applied for a charge back on their credit card and why they were given a chargeback or denied a chargeback. I am also wondering if anyone had a contact with Excess Property Solutions and whether they will agree to rent these properties at .075 a point or if this is part of the scam as well. The saleman who sold me this timeshare is still in contact with me and seems to want to help but also seems to not have his phone calls returned either. He said I should contact Exclusive Vacations to see if they will help. After three phone calls no return phone call. He also told me EPS was going to take over for PRL by March 1, 2013. I have heard nothing and wondering if anyone else has heard the same.

Did they make you jump through alot of hoops to get the money back or was it easy after all the knowledge of what went on? Were they easy to deal with or really trying not to return the money? Since I will do the same thing, I am wondering if you can provide advise and/or a copy of the letter notifying them of the refund with the hope that the company will return the money without problem if I submit that letter.

TO boobier This is what I am having a hard time understanding . J & L Platium Marketing was at the same address as SHR. They had a lawsuit against them in 2010 from North Dakota. So some time after 11-4-2010 they changed to R & R Ventures. Las Vegas AG in my letter stated they could not find a pattern at that location and they also could not do anything because they do not have a division to handle these complaints. The letters I have gotten back from other AG have not sounded promissing either. Now, with all the activity that both these companies have had and the complaints on the BBB and this forum , I find it hard that they are still trying to put a case together. As long as these companies have be scamming people , being in the same type of business I beleive they all know each other . Now someone writes that they are going Bankrupt , I have not heard that from them yet. I would think there is enough evidence is out there and it has been for a long time with nothing being done and the same people still selling. Does this sound like the AG from the states are really trying to do something. I would think if the scammers knew that all these AG were putting a case together they would be getting out of town not going into towns and still selling. What is your take on this??

Congratulations ..... the squeaky wheel gets the grease .... kudos to you for following through ..... I would have done the same thing until my money was refunded to me.

As tinak posted above .... after 8 months and with many conversations and evidence shown to Bank of America's fraud department her parent's finally received their refund ..... as tina showed it takes persistence .... what a fine daughter tina's parents have .... they must be very proud.

To jamesv145 Sorry but this is all I could find out, J & L Platium Marketing worked for a company and one of its owners was Guy Russell and Nonna Russell. But, Guy Russell changes company names like he changes hookers I am told, so good luck with this one. And, she also told me they used the same address as the one they use now. So, was Guy Russell & Nonna Russell part of that, sounds like it to me.

Great news Tina. I hope everyone follows your path and recovers their money and we put the pricipal players in jail for a long time.

when we were in vegas last april 2012, we went to that office on Sahara Avenue and it was listed as Sunset Harbor Regional Office and we talked personally to Lisa and believe me she wasn't very happy to see us and basically indicated we shouldn't be there. She emailed BJ right away and told him to call us. We knew immediately there was something wrong w/the whole deal!

This is interesting to me , since in this forum and also as I have been told, that Bill Mitchell and SSH are innocent of any wrong doing and were also scammed and lost money. First when I was told PRL was going out of business , I was told that Bill Mitchell was flying in from Las Vegas to talk with the staff. I believe he knew about the office in Las Vegas that now he claims they had no affiliation with .Second, with his business experience and experience with contracts, it is difficult to see him and his associate ties getting scammed or did he and all his associates just close their eyes . This was copied out of the BBB sight for Sunset Harbor: Alternate Business Names JMBN Family Ltd. Partners -R&R Venture- Rental Liquidator Sunset Harbor Resort & Luxury Condominiums-- The JMBN was interesting , after looking this up It showed other people connected to Bill Mitchell. Just connecting dots.

I know she got her money back. I want to know how hard it was to get it back and what BoA wanted in order to give her the money back so I could avoid any delays. I also want to know the name of a contact person with BofA.

Somewhere in the vicinity of $7,000- $8,000, which is put on a credit card. Naturally, RCI knows nothing about this; not only do the victims of this deal NOT end up with RCI Points, they DO end up with another timeshare which they didn’t want and didn’t realize they were actually buying. There are also reports that in some cases no “buying of a timeshare” was ever mentioned during the presentation. In this scenario potential clients were told that the money being paid would go directly for the purchase of RCI Points. It looks like the hammer is going to fall on the scammers before we know it. I can't wait until they bust them and we learn where they will be prosecuted . I think a group of us should meet at the courthouse where they get arraigned and then have a celebration dinner afterwards. It's just a matter of time now.

Excellent to hear....I've gotten my "dispute" papers nearly ready to send. I've even used words from these blogs as supportive evidence of who, where, and when. Congrats to you and your parents...I hope I can find the same success.

Well put donp196 It will be a great moment for all of us. But believe it or not it will be a great moment for the people in the office in Las Vegas that work for the Russell's. They're just hanging in there till it all comes down. The Russell's have done them wrong also. (that's another story that will come out in court)
