Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Has anyone heard of ICare Timeshare Marketing Group Inc.

Dispute the charge with you credit card company immediately. The instructions on how to do this are on your credit card statement or online if you receive/pay your bill that way.

I have dealt with 7 different resale companies they ask for upfront fee and once you pay it you will never hear from them again If Flordia is regulating these companies how can they still be in business

Do Not Pay Up Front Fee!!!!!!!

Be careful, there is another company out there and they called me today. I'm sure they are connected to Premiere Timeshare Solutions but their name is Premium Timeshare. I thought my caller ID read Premiere so when the rep started talking to me I said I was surprised that they contacted me and as soon as I said Premiere he hung up. The area code is 407 not the 561 so not sure where they are working out of.

We signed up with them last April but I haven't been able to do anything about it until now. I fought Premier timeshare solutions and got my money back but it took me a couple months. Now, I'm working on icare. I am gathering my evidence that they are a scam first. I had my neighbor call and act like an interested buyer. She asked how she could search for properties on their website and the customer service rep said she didn't know the website well. Then, I "inquired" about a property in the area where my timeshare is to see if they will actually get back to me. I've filled out the form twice this week and still no call or email. I plan to call them out on it and then proceed with contacting my credit card company and requesting a charge back, filing complaints with the fl attorney generals office and the dept. of agriculture and consumer services, filing a police report and I plan to contact the local news agency there to see if they would pursue an investigative report. They did one on Premier Timeshare Solutions but that is in Palm Beach Fl and I think icare is in Ft. Lauderdale. Shannon Cake is the name of the reporter who investigated Premier. Good thing is I'm a teacher and will have all summer to be the biggest pita to these people. That's how I got my money back from Premier so we shall see.

It may be futile to contact your credit card company if it's been over a year .... normally complaints are filed within 60 days, however I do commend you for sticking with getting the scammers caught by contacting the agencies in your post above .... don't give up.

You say you've met the owners and the employees are very hospitalbe. I'm not sure who you met, but I have tried NUMEROUS times to contact them via email, phone, telepathic messaging to no avail. They have robbed me of $1595 dollars, and have not fulfilled any of their promises in the contract. They took money from me without me even getting a contract for one of the transactions. So I'm not sure which ICare Timeshare you are referring to. Please feel free to contact me. 540-497-1055 or 202-354-1371

I signed up with them this April. I haven't been able to get in contact with them either, even after the numberous phone calls, emails and any other way I can contact them. They got $1595.00 from me and haven't done a DAMN thing for me. I want my money back as well. If I can help you in any way, please let me know. I don't know how much help I can be in Va, but I will do my best. I contacted my bank and they told me this is a battle I will have to take up with them, they couldn't help me get my money back. So now, I'm angry. Please let me know and I'll help.

This is the way all upfront fee resale companies operate (MO = modus operandi) .... file a complaint with the Attorney General in the state the scammers are located ... the upfront fee is all they want and then they disappear.

If you paid by credit card IMMEDIATELY use the dispute procedure outlined on your credit card statement. You have at least 60 days from the date of the charge to do this, if not more. (see Federal Trade Commission web site) If you pay your credit card bill on line, you can usually disput the charge online. You can also probably do it by phone, but you will want to follow up in writing.

Taking companies like these scum to court is useless. Even if you get them in court they will never pay; they will file bankruptcy or disappear; they are crooks; plain and simple. Contact your credit card company and refuse to pay your credit card company. That is the only protection you have against scammers and it is your right under federal law. Credit card companies will stop doing business with them when they realize they are "bad debts".

The scammers will tell you they WILL SELL within a certain length of time (say 6 months) and when they don't sell your 60 days has expired to file a complaint with your credit card company. If you refuse to pay your credit card debts (even scammers) then the credit card co. will go after you for non-payment.

The Fla. attorney general is in the process of taking many upfront fee scammers to court in that state.

This is an entirely different company than the one under discussion in this thread (ICare Timeshare Marketing Group Inc). Also, this newly interjected entity is an entirely different TYPE of company. Accordingly, the above quoted inquiry would more appropriately posted as a new and entirely separate thread of its own, but....

The "Transfer America" name is unknown, but the game will undoubtedly be familiar --- just another "PostCard Company". More likely, it's an old PCC "reinvented" with a new name.

At the "meeting", they may take (...not buy) your timeshare on the spot --- after YOU pay THEM somewhere between $2,500 and $3,500. They might not even take actual ownership by recording a new deed in their own name, but may instead just get a signed Power of Attorney from you to sell (or give away) the week IF THEY CAN. If they can't, you will STILL own the timeshare and you will STILL be "out" that $2,500 -$3,500 you parted with. Sound like a good deal?

If you have the free time to attend the "meeting", there is no harm in doing so just for for the experience and entertainment value, but the bottom line will certainly be just as described above.

Sorry, first time I have posted to a forum. Not too sure how it works. Little different from the financial boards I usually post to

It is a total scam. They have scammed my inlaws out of almost $2,000 dollars. We are looking at starting a class action lawsuit against I care - so feel free to email me if you have similar complaints.

Nope --- tain't so...

I learned just very recently that "Transfer America" is a PostCard Company which has some of the very same principals (specifically, David MacMillan and spouse) as another PCC (based in California) called Timeshare Relief. I don't know if Transfer America is a replacement name for Timeshare Relief or if Transfer America is actually an additional, second company. In any event, different name, but same game --- "Pay us $2,500 -- $3,500 and we will take your timeshare off your hands for you".

They are NOT buying any timeshares from you (or from anyone else). Quite the contrary, in fact. They will CHARGE you money (several thousand dollars) to take the timeshare from you. Still sound good???

Received a call last week from a fraud bureau and ICare was shut down but they sold or transferred their operations and with it gave credit card numbers. I was called so I would be diligent in watching my accounts.

They will show back up under a new name, to play the same scam game. THe new name will not be searchable on the internet for a while. Good luck !!

I was one of the fortunate ones who kept a diligent watch on the calendar and got the scammers in the end by disputing credit card charges. Over $4,000. Thank U BofA and Citi. They were absolutely fantastic.
