Marriott's Ocean Pointe

Restaurants in area

Nov 21, 2006

Can anyone who has been to this resort recently recommend any restaurants in the area. Any concerns about safety in West Palm Beach in the evening? Thanks

We own a Ocean Pointe and there are quite a few good restaurants in the area. The one I recommend with 5 stars is the Sailfish Marina. It is open for brreakfast lunch and dinner. It over looks the sport fishing marina and is always fun to watch the goings on there. It is within walking distance of Ocean Pointe and is very safe. THere is a littls strip mall not far from OP and there is a areatuarant there Johnnie Longboats. It is not too bad either. The strip mall had quite a bit of damage done in the last two hurricanes so it looks in pretty bad shape but it too is safe and within walking distance. There are many good restuurants on PGA Blvd but that is about a 10 minute drive.

Hope this helps

Been there and the tip to go to the Sailfish was a very good one. Had two meals there and it is an excellent spot. Also visitors must take the Then and Now tour on the Water Taxi which is well worth the time and money. Ocean Pointe is a first class resort.

We like Max and Eddy's, which is walking distance from the Resort just behind the decrrepit oceanfront shopping center. It serves good and reasonably priced Italian food, with excellent salads and delicious pizzas. They have a good "early bird" dinner from 4-6 PM, but we prefer to go later, as the early bird menu is quite limited. They also do take out. You can call them, pick up the dinner 15 mintues later, and enjoy dinner on your balcony at Ocean Pointe. Prices are moderate, and the service and atmosphere are friendly.

We love Ocean Pointe . Have spent 6 years and going back in aug. A short dive to PGA blvd and you have more than enough choices . The concierge desk has list and directions.

Must go to is The Reef, going towards Juno and Jupiter Ask concierge. Great seafood prepared in great unusual ways. Casual. Ditto on the Sailfish. Do not forget to go on Thur. eve. for art/craft show at sunset. Ditto on Max and Eddies. Portofino at the strip mall down from Johnny Longboats also has great pizza., etc. There is also a little health food tucked in between the two that has great wraps and smoothies. etc. There are so many restaurants up on PGA, too numerous to mention. Many are the typical chain you find in any city.
