RCI points-giving days/weeks to children
Is it necessary to buy a guest pass if I'm giving the days or week to my children for their use if it's at a different resort as part of an exchange? We used to own weeks and converted to points recently and we're trying to learn the ins and outs of points. Reading from this forum has helped immensely. Thanks. bob

You may give your weeks or points to relatives or friends as part of an exchange. You cannot request compensation for anything other than the exchange fee and guest certificate. Yes, you will have to purchase a guest certifcate in order to put the confirmation in their name.

After purchasing my RCI Points unit, I had the seller put my children's name on the "Bill of Sale", not the deed. I recently booked a week for my daughter; no guest fee was required. I do not know if this can be done after the sale, or if you can add/subtract names. You may give your weeks or points to relatives or friends as part of an exchange. In the past, I have had to go with adult children if I wanted to avoid the Guest Confirmation fee. ===== Well, I asked RCI and copied off the answer but now can't find it! She said we could get a "Partial Guest Confirmation" for an individual for set periods of time. I figured that 3 or more uses in a five year contract would be enough to put one ahead of the game, since the up front cost is less than three ordinary guest fees. MD
