Question - Has Anyone stayed at the Grandview at Las Vegas
I have never stayed there but have toured the property. My sister is an owner there also, but she has yet to stay there her self. The property was very nice. The units we decorated nicely. As far as the location, it is south on LasVegas Blvd. going out towards Stateline. It would maybe take 10 mins to get there from the strip-starting at Mandalay Bay. I beleive they have shuttle service, but not sure. I would recommend getting a rental car. We have driven in Las Vegas our last 2 vacations and wouldn't do it anry other way. Parking is no problem at any of the hotels or casinos, since there is no charge or vallet parking, just tip them $1 or so. It's great you just pull right up to the front door, no extra walking. There is a casino next door to Grandveiw, it just changed names, was South Coast, now it is South Point, huge place very nice. If you are going to get the rental car book it on line before you go, you'll save alot.

We stayed there last summer for the first time because we own one unit for a week. We really liked it. The resort is very very beautiful and clean. They have a shuttle can bring you to shopping groceries but only one person allowed for one family. There is also a city bus coming to the door. I think it's 5 dollars for a all day pass. Next door to the resort is South Coast Casino. It is new and good deals from its restaurauts. I cooked many meals myself using our kitchen. BBQ area is also very convienent.

Grandview is very nice and although construction was going on, it didn't bother us at all. Three suggestions for a grand experience: Do Batista's Hole In The Wall restaurant, and let Gordy serenade you with his accordion (he's been there as long as the restaurant), go to the Plaza Hotel and Casino and have dinner at Center Stage while the lights of Fremont street dazzle you (both can be found online), go to the Fontana night club at the bellagio and ask to sit outside to watch the fountains while having an after dinner cocktail... my wife and I watched the fountains for hours there.

Thank you, when were you there? I appreciate you suggestions. Viva Las Vegas!

Stayed there in September. There are so many things to do in Vegas, other than gambling, it boggles the mind. By the way, if you want to have one of the best prime rib dinners and dining experiences ever, go to Lawry's on Flamingo, and ask to be served by Ms. Tremble (you can make reservations online, before you leave you home, at all of the places I have suggested, just use your search engine find them). Anyway, here are a couple of suggestions other than the strip: 1)Spend the day at Red Rock Canyon or The Valley of Fire State Park (both require a minimal entrance fee) and spend the day enjoying the scenery. 2)Take a dinner cruise on Lake Meade. 3)My favorite thing to do is drive up to Mt. Charleston and spend the day there. Bring some food and drinks, have a picnic at the 8000ft level (you can drive there) go to the ranger station and get information and brochures on the trails/nature. Then, if you're in decent shape, do a couple of walks. The trails are as short as a few hundred feet or many miles. The walks can turn into hikes and range from easy to strenuous, but all are well worth the time. No matter your age or physical condition, it's a once in a lifetime thing to do. My 77 year old mother-in-law did an actual strenuous hike with us to Cockscomb peak, which is at the 9300ft. level! At least, take a drive up there. If you would like information on how I got a very inexpensive rental car at alamo, just let me know. Sorry I'm so long winded, but I know a great deal about vegas...
