Royal Hawaiian Vacation Club Royal Kuhio resale info request

I am about to purchase a Royal Kuhio timeshare from a current owner. Does anyone know if these can be legitimately sold by an owner and if this is a smooth transition? Any info is appreciated before I give a good faith deposit.
