Any Info on Liberty Resale Brokers?
Hi, Once again, not sure about how these "resale brokers" get all the owner's info since mine wasn't a deeded timeshare. They claim they want to buy our timeshare and faxed a copy of an "offer". So far, haven't asked for upfront fees but said they would take 5% commission from the "sale"? Any info on this particular company based out of Uniondale,N.Y? Thanks for any info, advise, etc.

Just watch out for any other bogus fees they might get you to pay such as lien search, title search, closing costs, legal fees, marketing fees, alleged back taxes, resort transfer fees, etc.
But to be perfectly frank, most legitimate resale brokers or real estate agents will take at least 10%-20% commission. One offering to only take 5% is a red flag.

If they ask for any kind of large upfront fee whether they call it a marketing fee, closing fee, advertising fee or any other kind of fee, then they're scams. Education about upfront fee resale scams is all over the internet and in this forum and other timeshare forums.
BTW, I bet the offer was outrageously high ?????

I had high hopes but heres what I found out.
The 1st company website started as LibertyResaleBrokers.com in 24-may-2010, then they switched to LibertyResaleBrokers.net in 07-sep-2011. There isn't any archived pages for them so they are new.
There not in the BBB and they have no hits, good or bad. If they're touting that they've been in business for 20 yrs, they should have something.
Lastly, Google maps has been wrong before, but the company address shows up as a parking lot. Unless theres a building under the trees.
The other thing that had me wondering is I told them what I expected and they came back with a price 3 times higher, whaa?

Liberty Resale Brokers are asking that I pay the Mexico SAT fees before getting paid for my timeshare, thats actually a legitimate tax, isn't it? I asked for something in writing and they gave me a quoted price and total refund promise (promise being the key word). Anyone can promise anything in writing but getting the money back is another story.
