Starwood timeshare exchanges
I purchased a Starwood timeshare a couple of years ago. At the time I purchased I did because I was told I could travel to all the STarwood resorts and that Harborside Atlantis was one of them. I purchased with the idea I could exchange and travel to any of the 13 resorts. Recently I tried to exchange my Starwood Kaananpali North Hawaii, timeshare for Harborside Atlantis and have not been able to exchange. I was told by a Starwood representative that this property is not a Westin/Starwood property and that is only managed my Starwood. It is not available through exchange, I have to be an owner of that property to stay there. I was told the same is true of the St. John location. Was I lied to by Starwood so I would buy Hawaii? Can I not exchange and go to these two properties or for that matter any other Starwood properties unless I own them?

I own in Orlando and I have gone to Harborside a few times. ARe you sure you have enough options?? You can only request 8 months in advance since this is not your "home resort". Atlantis is a very hard resort to reserve...you just have to keep trying sometimes.

We have traded into Harborside on three separate occasions. You generally have to call the first day it is available to trade (8 months out). We own in Florida and Myrtle Beach and are Elite members, have enjoyed the perks when we stay at a Starwood affiliated hotel
