Closing Company Recommendations
Hello
Can anyone recommend a reputable closing company for a timeshare that I am purchasing?
Also, I am looking to purchase at Sheraton Vistana Villages (Key West) simply for the Star Options. I never plan on staying at the actual resort. Can anyone provide advice as to if this is a good idea? I would be using the options in St John, Hawaii, or Atlantis. Thank you!

www.timesharetransfer.com is a reputable timeshare closing company, however I would never buy just to exchange since trading is too iffy these days and there are many variables (ie: how far in advance you deposit your owned week, supply and demand of the resort and time requested for an exchange, the trade power of what you own, etc.). All these things have to be taken into consideration when exchanging .... a timeshare sales rep may tell you that if you buy this timeshare you can trade it for anything in the II or RCI Wishbooks (whichever the exchange company the resort is with) anytime you want .... it just doesn't work that way.

My first choice these days would be JRA Services, Inc. in Sunrise, FL. $275, plus the county recording fee (under $40).
I have also used Timeshare Transfer (Vero Beach, FL) with good results, but one of the principals in that business (Tia Beinhower) died recently. As a result, I believe things there are a still a bit chaotic right now. $300, includes county recording fee.

With the relatively recent passing of Tia Beinhower at Timeshare Transfer Inc., one of the other former principals there (Susan Gale) has now started a new closing company called Express Timeshare Closings (which, I believe, is still located in Vero Beach, FL).
Well experienced people on TUG have reported favorable encounters with Susan and her new company. While I personally have no intentions of selling or buying any timeshares in the foreseeable future, if I was I certainly would not hesitate to use Susan's new company. Her experience and performance track record is already respectable and well established at her former company.

Resort Closings Inc. is located in Bozeman, Montana, owned and run the same people who own / run Donate for a Cause; needless to say they handle all DFAC closings. They are competent, but sometimes a bit slow --- and generally somewhat more expensive than any of the others previously identified to you.

I don't know of them, but their web site indicates costs "starting at $300". You can get a closing handled for HALF that amount by an outfit called LT Transfers, located in Georgia.
JRA Services of FL was always my favorite closing entity, but as of January 21, 2017, the principal (Janet A.) has started a new career in real estate and has "closed the doors" of JRA Services. Too bad --- Janet A. was, in my opinion, simply the best in the business.
