Understanding RCI Points

Jun 20, 2011

I own a fixed-week RCI timeshare under a point-based contract. My situation is fairly common: its nearly impossible to find an RCI points resort in a high demand location even several years in advance. Despite several day of online research I'm still confused about my options re my points. I gather that RCI points are restricted in their use ("cant be sold"?) but that apparently there is some way to "sell" points to other RCI points members (or give them permission to use them). For instance redweek has a site for RCI points owner to "buy/sell" their points

My questions are (1) what options do I have to sell -- exchange-for-cash/share for a fee -- my RCI points (2) how is a $ value per point established (3) are their other places that could answer any "sensitive" questions regarding RCI points options? Thanks, Lee Barrett
