Marriott Vacation Club

Has anyone had to deal with Marriott Vacation Club? I own a unit (Platinum Week) in Orlando. Due to cash flow issues, I fell several months behind on payments. I have approximately $9k left on mortgage. Marriott proposed a deed in lieu of foreclosure. Reluctantly, I agreed to do this if Marriott would not report this transaction to the credit bureaus. They refused to do this. I then offered to payoff the unit if they would remove delinquents notices, they refused to do this as well. Prior to delinquencies with Marriott, I had a good credit rating (740+) The only negative reports on my credit is from Marriott and it has now dropped approximately 200 points. I have always been a loyal Marriott customer. I am a Silver Elite member and almost always stay at Marriotts on business and pleasure trips. Anyone have suggestions or have had any experiences in this area?
