Red, White, or Blue Weeks

Mar 24, 2012

Bought our timeshare from Fairfield Co. at Patriot's Place in Williamsburg, VA 20 or 25 years ago. At that time the point system didn't exist. We bought based on "red, white, or blue" weeks-- red being a very desirable week to be vacationing in Williamsburg (summer, Christmas, etc); and white and blue being semi-and less desirable (I can't recall which was which). Our week in October was a "red" week because of fall foliage and bec. our Saturday was William And Mary College Homecoming Week. So we paid premium for our Oct. week. Also, we have never converted to the point system (much to the chagrin of Wyndham timeshare sales staff). Now that "fixed weeks" are obsolete and points are all the rage, if we want to sell our timeshare, is there any way we will reap extra $$ on our selling price? We haven't looked into any sellling prices yet.

Fixed weeks are definitely NOT obsolete .... millions of timeshare owners still own fixed weeks. If you have a prime week at the location you own then just sell it is a fixed week, however in this economy many timeshares can't even be given away .... it depends on the supply and demand of the resort and week you own.
