Location Committment

Apr 11, 2012

When purchasing a Marriott timeshare over 10 years ago we paid extra money to have an oceanview unit location. Recently we rented the timeshare and Marriott did not honor the location and even though we faxed our building preference 30 days in advance, they assigned a garden view room to the occupants. What are our rights in this situation?

Get out your contract and read it backwards and forwards .... if the promise for an oceanview is not listed in your contract then Marriott can put you where ever they wish (no matter what they told you verbally) .... the contract is the only legally binding agreement.

Thanks. I intend to do that. Any ideas on how or who to approach this complaint with?

I would write a letter to the president's office.

One more time, if it's not in your (legal) contract that you get an oceanview unit then Marriott can give you any unit they wish.
