Is this another Mexican Timeshare scam?
We were just contacted by Priorities Management. They indicate that they want to buy 50 timeshare units at Velas Vallarta in Puerro Vallarta. They say that they will pay me $29,700 for our unit. The first step is that they will deposit half the sale price in an escrow account under my name and pay the balance to us on October 15th. they also indicate that they will pay all closing and title fees. Too good to be true? What we would have to do is put about $3,000 in the escrow account in order to move forward...They claim that the only way we can lose this money is if we pull out of the deal...Is this another scam where they run off with the escrow money? One more time .... don't even think of going along with this scam. There's no timeshare on earth that an entity would pay $29,700 for when many people are giving their timeshares away for free, especially Mexico timeshares .... this should have raised a BIG RED flag with you. All they want is that $3000 then you'll never hear from them again.

NEVER give anyone money upfront that claims they want to buy your timeshare. It's a SCAM !!!! They only want your upfront money that they will claim is for some sort of fee. What do you know about these people other than they contacted you and all of a sudden they want your timeshare. They send out thousands of these offers phishing for victims. It's one of the oldest scams in the business.

Two things: an unexpected telemarketing call and an offer for way above market value. If these two things happened then it is a scam.
What usually happens is cases like this is that the scam artist will tell you that there is an offer in place and the sale is ready to go through. Then he will tell you that you need to pay some sort of fee or tax to close the deal.
There is no buyer and, even if there were, any fee or tax that has to be paid would come out of the sale price paid by the buyer and not the seller.
