timeshare broker services

Have you heard of Sell My Timeshare.com. It is a timeshare broker services located in Dover, NH. I have accepted the offer of the company through its agent to rent my timeshare in Hawaii. I am now reviewing the rental contract but before I sign I want to know more about the company. Do you have any business dealing with this company. What was your experience? What more should I do to investigate this company. I will contact BBB in Dover, NH and possibly the attorney general office. Today, is Friday and the agent just sent me the email attaching the rental agreement. I was in contact with him at mid day. The delay in sending me the agreement gives me second thought about proceeding.Tks ceferinoa

First of all, did this company contact you out of the blue? If so, I would be very suspicious. Did they say that they could rent it out for well above market value? If so, again, very suspicious.

Whatever you do, do not pay them any sort of fee beforehand regardless of how they label the fee. If they are legitimate, they will take their commission out of the rental fee. So the renter would pay this company. Then the company would send you a check less their commission.

Personally, I wouldn't even think of doing business with any upfront fee resale company, even for renting my timeshare .... upfront fee resale companies are all scams.

You can just as easily rent your Hawaii timeshare here on Redweek, VRBO (Vacation Rentals by Owner), your local newspaper or other legitimate timeshare ad sites and then you keep ALL the proceeds.

As lance said, this scam company evidently called you out of the blue with this offer .... that should always present a red flag. Also, if you should sign a contract for them to rent your timeshare then you are beholding to them whether they rent it or not.

My husband and I are about to purchase a Time Share property ( Stormy Point Resort ) in Branson. TimeShare Broker Services of Florida ask for a large escrow deposit when we send in our contract papers. I am a Senior Citizen so I do not want to be scammed. Is this customary to pay half of the property value up front. We will not close for 45 to 90 days.

I assume that you're buying this timeshare on the resale market. If so, who chose Timeshare Broker Services of Florida for closing? What does the contract state the procedure would be?

I haven't heard of the above closing company but JRA Services is a very reputable timeshare closing company in the industry ....

BTW, after researching TBS there are mixed reviews. I would look for an ad for that resort where you could choose the closing company.

There's a resale ad on Redweek for Stormy Point, 3bd, 2ba, floating, even years for $1350 .... however I'm not familiar with the company that you must contact .... I would insist on JRA Services for closing:

We were looking on the internet and a broker from Timeshare Broker Services of Florida contacted us about a property in Branson. The contract is 5 pages long it states the Property Description, Purchase Price, Escrow Deposit and several other things. It has a Rescission Period of 10 days. The Escrow Deposit is half of the cost of the property and is to be sent with the contract. Closing will be in 45 to 90 days and the other amount is due at that time.

It looks as though everything is in order if you are satisfied with the purchase price of the timeshare, the amount you have to send for escrow and the 45-90 days until closing .... all timeshare closing services require money to be put in escrow.
