Can you really sale your getaways from interval international

I keep getting mutliple calls about saleing your getaways and i most definantly will not be able to use them. However Im not sure how that works. Please someone help i have 12 weeks to get rid of before jan .

sounds like a scam to me, Interval International, as far as I know, never does sales calls to sell inventory, only memberships. I would highly recommend calling them to find out and not taking an inbound call.

wow.. thats what i thought might happen however im still a little confused as to how they know you are not just giving them to a friend which they clearly state you can. But I guess they are more specific then the time share company wants you to believe. I really wish i had never purchased my timeshare it is most definanlty not as rewarding as expected. thanks for your help

DUH!!! Commercial purposes would involve sale of these getaway weeks - that would be in a..... commercial market.

The ban from use for commercial purposes is clearly stated in the RCI/II policies that all members have to sign when they become members. Violating the policies (in this case - sale of exchange or getaway weeks) can result in suspension and/or cancellation of your membership without refund and forfeiture of all the weeks currently booked. You can also receive a lifetime ban from membership. After suspension/warning your membership becomes flagged for very close monitoring.

I appreciate and support these policies to keep slime from taking advantage of the system for personal gain. The exchange weeks and the getaways are benefits extended to all members, not to members who want to re-sell them to non members to make a profit. By doing so these weeks are removed from availability to other members.

That is the intent, that is the policy, if you violate the policy you face the consequences.

ps. It is the stupid ones out there that post these weeks on public markets such as ebay, redweek, etc in bulk. Sufficient numbers make it easy for the II/RCI "police" to track. These morons are just begging to get busted!

I would not sell to anyone who calls me or approaches me because there are lots of scams. What you may be able to do is what I'm trying to do which is list your getaways on Airbnb. I was told during my sales presentation that this was allowed. I'm currently researching it now.

You were plainly misinformed by a sales weasel, whether deliberately or innocently. The simple fact is that you can only sell / rent out weeks that you actually own (i.e., NOT weeks obtained by "exchange", Getaways, or Last Calls). This fact is very clearly stated, in writing, within the terms and conditions of membership in both II and RCI.

You cannot sell / rent out II or RCI weeks provided for your own personal one time use, whether obtained via exchange, Getaways, Last Calls or Extra Vacations. It won’t take much “researching” for you to easily verify this indisputable fact for yourself; it is all very clearly expressed in writing within both II and RCI terms and conditions of membership.

Where you “list” is completely irrelevant. The sale / rental of weeks that you do not OWN but have obtained from II or RCI for your one-time use via exchange, Getaways, Last Calls, etc. is simply and clearly prohibited by both II and RCI.
