Olive's question in Oct. newsletter
I think, Time share crusader missed the point. So if it was me,and I wanted to leave...assuming you had already asked for your personal belongs back FROM the speaker...not admin staff... I would walk up to the front of the stage where the speaker is. Politely interrupt them...say you have enjoyed you time but you MUST leave Now. Tell the speaker and the rest of the attendees you will wait on the stage until your license is returned...the Speaker will try and gently ask you to sit and wait...just a few more minutes...stay standing on the stage or in plain view at the front of the room.. If nothing happens and you are still standing there after seven minutes... Interrupt and ask to borrow someone's phone... You are calling the Police...you are being held without your permission and you need the police to help..guarantee you will get results...don't forget to call the police back to cancel the call, when the speaker returns your license... These type of 'tactics' of keeping your keys, passport, license, etc. work because the company knows people will not speak up...we have been conditioned to be polite...our only recourse is 'make a scene'. It will usually get you results very quickly.
