Raintree 7 Conversion?
Are you familiar with the current offer by Raintree Vacation Club for it's members to opt for the Raintree 7 program ? I am sure you are aware of all the issues with Raintree in the past? So far no one on the forum has posted that they have "converted" their existing membership. Just a little suspicious that they are just trying to extract more money from us? I have a call in to see the actual document with the details prior to sending in the $ 1,195.00 they requested. Any help or comment would be most apprecaited. Thanks I have attached the email from Raintree for you to look over.
Dear Member, We want to be sure you are able to take advantage of the amazing offer to convert your current Membership to a Raintree 7 Membership. We have previously emailed you this offer, but time is running out so we thought we would send you a reminder.
Raintree 7 is an amazingly flexible vacation product that gives you seven weeks of usage over a period as short as four years or as many as 15 years, if, for example, you only wanted to use your Membership every other year. You decide how you want to use your Membership- seven years in a row (after which it will expire) or spread it out over the full 15 years, or even use these seven weeks over a period as short as four years! This is a term product that has no further commitment after you have used your seven weeks of usage. You do not pay a maintenance fee in the years you do not use your Membership.
The current cost to convert to Raintree 7 is $1,495. If you choose to convert your Membership by July 26, 2013, we will lower that cost from $1,495 to $1,195. The current cost for this conversion, if you were to convert at one of the resorts, starts at $3,600, and requires you to purchase additional Points. The offer to convert for $1,195 is only valid through this offer, and only until July 26, 2013. Upon receipt of this payment, we will promptly convert your Membership so you can start using your new benefits right away. Please note that the 2013 maintenance fees and annual membership fees must be paid in full before a conversion can be processed. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is behind on their maintenance fees to convert their Membership before Raintree expends all legal efforts, which may include reporting past due amounts to the credit reporting agencies.
We believe that this is an excellent way to convert your current Raintree Vacation Club Membership to something with the same vacation options, and also allows for it to expire with no continuing obligation.
Sincerely,
Raintree Vacation Club

I too have been contacted regarding this conversion. I am hesitant as you are to agree to anything due to Raintree's less than trustworthy history. I am asking for more information regarding this from Raintree and will update this posting once I hear from them. If you have any further information, please post an update.
Also, has anyone heard of Resort Solutions International, LLC aka RCI, LLC out of Branson, MO? I can't get any information about this company and they claim that can take the timeshare off your hands for $4,995. Skeptical about this place as well.

How did you hear about RSI? Was it a phone call out of the blue? Then likely it's a scam.
However, what you described about this company leads me to believe it is what's commonly called a Post Card Company (PCC). What they usually do after they have collected this huge fee from you is list your timeshare on E-bay after you have signed a Power of Attorney (POA) authorizing them to do what they want with it.
Then they hope that someone will buy it off E-bay for a dollar or so. If someone buys it, then you are no longer the owner. However, there's no guarantee that anyone will buy it. So until someone does, you will still be the legal owner on record.
Have you tried selling it or giving it away?
