What is the best Timeshare to purchase?
My husband has just retired from his job of almost 40 years. We both love golfing and every year we go out of town to this beautiful resort for $350.00 a night with unlimited golf package plus take our two little dogs in the hotel.
But of course we also want to travel and go to diiferent places in and out of the USA and with limited budget we decided to sign up for this so called TimeShare.
We heard of so many unhappy stories from people who bought timeshares and we don't want to end up in misery like them so we want to know if there is an honest to goodness company that sells timeshares that we can use when we like to travel?

You can rent them online for less than you would probably have to pay for maintence fees without having a lifetime or increases in fees. Right now you like to travel but down the road issues might arise that prevent you from traveling and then you're stuck with yearly maintenance fees and assessments and no market to rid yourself of your timeshare.

If you do decide to buy then buy on the resale market to save thousands of dollars, but be aware that exchanging is a crap shoot.
Timeshare ownership is beneficial to many people, but you should research the ins and outs of ownership and know the trading power of what you own.
As don stated .... it's much easier to buy a timeshare than to sell a timeshare when that time comes.
Have you researched the rental market here on Redweek and other timeshare rental sites to compare rental rates?

Problem is your dogs most timeshare charges more per day if the dogs are in the rooms. And I know the Weston on the Bonaventure in Weston fl, let dogs in rooms. You can get this resorts on the secondary market for a penny and its right on the golf course or closed by they have a few buildings around the golf course. But are oldest of the three Weston property. If you buy this resort you can still use all of the Weston property amenities. Hope this helps. This just came to me, I think Weston on the Bonaventure has one Building for Pets only. Whatever resorts your interesting in buying in the secondary market, call the resorts and find out what their pets policy is.

I agree with Joseph above .... the Weston Resorts are a golfer's paradise. They're close to Ft Lauderdale and all the restaurants and activities there including the intercoastal waterway, water taxis to restaurants and malls, million dollar yachts, multi- million dollar homes, water bus to South Beach/Miami and Weston is very close to the Everglades. The Weston resorts also provide a tour bus to and from Key West.
There are rentals for far less than $350 a night (copy and paste URL below):

These are resales for the Weston Resorts in the Bargain Basement for $1:
Vacation Village at Weston Weston, Florida Week: 36 cal (High Season) Maintenance Fee: $779 2 bed/2 bath Price: $1
Vacation Village at Bonaventure Weston, Florida Week: 18 cal (High Season) Maintenance Fee: $866 2 bed/2 bath Price: $1
Vacation Village at Bonaventure Weston, Florida Week: 16 cal (High Season) Maintenance Fee: $800 2 bed/2 bath Price: $1
Vacation Village at Bonaventure Weston, Florida Week: 25 cal (High Season) Maintenance Fee: $779 2 bed/2 bath Price: $1
Unless their protocol has changed regarding dogs (it would be best to call to make sure) since I visited this site below:
Vacation Village at Weston and Bonaventure Weston, FL, US Vacation Village at Weston and Bonaventure welcomes dogs, 30lb or less, in the Flamingo and Egret buildings for a fee non-refundable fee of $125 per dog, per stay, and a refundable fee of $250.
