Marriott is not that owner or the manager of Atlantis. At this point what they did was lend the resort a substantial amount of money to do a renovation. In return the resort is allowing Marriott rewards members to earn points on stays and use points for stays in the hotel portion of the property. The current timeshare portion (Harborside) is managed by Starwood Vacation Club. If Atlantis develops additional timeshare units on the property, Marriott may get the jobs of marketing them as a part of their Destination Club.
