how do i book my timeshare for a week?

Jan 06, 2015

I'm used to booking a vacation on like trip advisor. If I own a timeshare at the same resort how do I go about booking a week to vacation? Do I contact the resort directly? Whats the process?

That depends what you own. Do you own a fixed or floating week? Do you own weeks or points?

80 red season floating weeks on a RTU in Mexico.

If you own a floating week then there are usually instructions with your contract how to book. There should be a phone number at the resort you can call and it should be with your owner's documents.

The instructions should say as to when you can call to book. Depending on what you own, you might have restrictions as to what week(s) you can book.

Remember, with floating weeks, sometimes the prime weeks get snapped up quickly by other owners. So if you know what week you want to book, I would suggest contacting the resort right away.

Thank you. Very helpful. I haven't purchased yet and I'm trying to hash out all the details.

Do you know what the different Mexican timeshare seasons are and their dates? I think red season is in the most demand. If you own floating red season weeks can you use ANY week throughout the year or only ones in the red season? What is considered the low or slow time of year there?
