from a Vida Resorts, Grand Luxxe owner
We have enjoyed many vacations over the years at Mayan Palace, Grand Mayan and Grand Luxxe resorts. These resorts are well maintained and staffed so by all means rent there and enjoy. BUT, do not be enticed to a sales presentation and if you do go, DO NOT, purchase without reading your contract fully. You will not be given the opportunity to get legal counsel until after signing. You should also know that Mexican law provides you the right to cancel you contract within 5 days of signing SO, BEFORE SIGNING, know your contracts procedure to properly cancel promptly (such as by registered mail.) Don't sign on a Friday when it may be hard to get legal council. As an acquaintance in the timeshare rental business said to me yesterday, "Do you know how to tell when a Grand Luxxe salesman is lying? They're moving their lips". As per the timeshare industry in general, BUYER BEWARE!!
