Is advertised price pretty close to what you end up paying?
Or do there end up being fees, taxes, etc that drive the price up quite a bit? For example if a week long rental unit is listed as $1500 are you going to pay close to that or closer to $2000? I would like to get some idea of final cost before I pay membership fee.

I would ask the owner. Sometimes, it depends on the resort. Some resorts (such as in the Cayman Islands) charge a daily electric fee. So I would confirm with the owner from whom you are renting. Some owners will advertise the final price while some will not include any other applicable taxes or fees in the advertised price.

Lance is correct -- it does vary by resort. Usually the price listed is what you will end up paying, but there are some resorts that have additional fees, so you would need to contact the owner to find out.

Holiday Inn Vacation Club ( Orange Lake ) has no additional fee's unless you charge something while your there. Some amenities cost money, but it is your choice to do them or not. As someone who rents out , I sure would let you know upfront if any extra charges were to be expected.
