Feel there's a scam listing
Last year we joined RedWeek and rented a timeshare. The owner was knowledgeable and took us through the entire process with confidence.
This year, we're back! :-) In the middle of email conversations, the "owner" stated that since he now lives near the resort, he can use the facilities whenever he wishes and so doesn't need the actual room. That's not true. If he's stayed there "many years", he would know that they give a wristband to those allowed access to the facilities.
We immediately backed out. He also thought he had to make the unit reservation through RedWeek... ???
I don't want to see anyone ripped off. $1500 is a lot of money.

Some owners rent out frequently and some owners are first time or only very occasional renters and don't know the process. If you don't feel comfortable then don't rent from them. As for day use, unless you also own there, you don't really know. Some resorts, even with wristbands allow day use. Owners of other weeks check in at the front desk and are issued wristbands. It varies from resort to resort.
