My rental listing made me a target for scammers, brokers and individuals representing 3rd parties

Apr 18, 2016

My reason for deactivating my rental posting: Because I'm being contacted by brokers, scammers and people who are representing third parties.

I believe anyone can join Redweek, many misrepresenting who they are. Listings become a source for phishing, scamming and contact by people with whom I choose not to deal with. I would hate to think that these are people to whom I would rent who might destroy or damage my confirmed reservation at Marriott resorts where I own weeks.

Very disappointed that Redweek has become a target for scammers.

You must have a pretty good rental, they feel like they can make money on it, and your price has to be low or they wouldn't bother you.

I just rented my vacation week to a third party as long as I got my asking price I'm happy and so will the people getting the vacation. (middle man also) Sometimes they get clients that want something but have not found Redweek and have needs to fill.

I also have been contacted by low ballers , I just tell them no thanks.
