Is their any reviews on owners renting time shares to let you know if they are legit or not?

Gerald -

While we do not have owner reviews, for a safe transaction you can use the escrow services of First American Title: Escrow

We also offer assistance on steps for a safe transaction here: Stay Safe

If you have further questions, please Contact Us.

So don't rent unless the owner used Escrow Service?

If a owner was a problem, you would find it on this forum sight or on TUG2. We are all registered with Redweek / TUG We really just want our places rented, and you just want a vacation.

I have a nice rental agreement for you to sign, reservation is put in your name after a deposit is made, as long as we are paid in full for our week you get to enjoy it.

Renters ins. is available on line and I recomend protecting your vacation this way for unforeseen problems. I would not pay for a Escrow service , this would have to be paid in full by you, I would agree to use it than.

Trust is a hurdle for both parties , once one rents from me the barrier has been broken and we can plan the future :)

I think if Redweek had a "member since 20XX" by our names in our posts it could be helpful.

I feel very safe on Redweek or TUG, good luck ! Dave

Gerald you made the first step for a successful rental by coming to the forum for advice. There is no guarantee that you won't avoid the scammers but by following the advice of others you have a better chance of getting a safe rental.

There are red flags that should automatically pop up and other questionable points that should be looked into. Anytime that you feel something might be suspicious come into the forum and ask someone. Redweek tries very hard to screen out the scammers but they keep coming up with new twists to conceal their identities.

Buying rental insurance is a wise choice. Yes it costs extra but peace of mind isn't free. Using every safeguard available is worth a good nights sleep. By booking well in advance you have the time to scrutinize the agreement before committing yourself to the deal. Do your homework and I'm sure you will have a successful and enjoyable vacation.
