Some timeshares and vacation clubs make sense to some people who own them. What one has to do is do a lot of research and analyze his travel patterns, needs, budgets, and preferences. Then, if it makes sense, buy one resale instead of from the developer.

To say "None of them make any economic sense" is a blanket stereotype statement. True, the majority of them make little sense but there are some timeshare owners and vacation club members who are happy with their purchase.

The writer of the article you pasted just probably had a bad experience with a timeshare sales presentation and is putting all timeshares in the same basket.
