Partial Week Timeshare rentals in the Outer Banks, NC???
New to the forum here but not new to timeshares rentals (in laws own one in Williamsburg and FL). We LOVE Outerbanks but I know almost every rental in OBX is always for a whole week. That just won't work for us right now with my husband's work schedule. Does anyone ever offer to rent just 2 to 4-night stays??

If you're not fussy about which particular resort you want to stay at, then there is a possibility. Some resorts in that area are probably on a points system. With points, an owner can usually book by the day/night rather than the whole week.
Try putting some ads in on reputable timeshare websites. If the time that you are looking to rent is within the next 45 days, you can put a free ad in on Timeshare Users Group (aka "TUG"; tugbbs.com) in its Last Minute Rental forum under Rentals Wanted. Perhaps an owner of points can book something for you.

Timeshare owners with deeded ownerships (as distinguished from "pure points contracts") own FULL weeks and pay maintenance fees for FULL weeks. Accordingly, regardless of location, only very rarely is a (deeded) timeshare owner willing to rent out just a few days of the full week that they own. Doing so means that 1.) they won't likely cover the cost of their annual maintenance fee bill amount and 2.) the odds are low that anyone will want to rent just the "left over" portion of a week. Except for last minute, desperate situations, most timeshare owners understandably want NOTHING to do with partial week rentals.
On the other hand, some resorts will rent out vacant timeshare units for just a few nights (collecting a commission from the unit / week owner to do so), as long as the underlying unit / week owner knows about it and has approved such a "partial week" rental in advance. However, in such instances, the tenant will often have to pay top dollar "rack rates" for such nightly stays, often with a 3 night minimum. After all, timeshare properties are not "motels"; individual people OWN the units / weeks there.
