We have done this several times. As long as the units you are renting are the same, the resort will do it. you can combine your total rental. Call them directly and they will set it up so you will not have to move during your stay.
If you mean you rented for two families and you both want to be on the same floor, we have also done this and it all depends on availability when you check in. You can request by calling but they cannot guarantee anything until you are checking in at the hotel. I will say they do their very best to accomodate all requests where they can.
