Help a newbie with floating weeks
lisar1071 wrote:is it possible for someone to explain to me, in a bit more detail what this means:Float Week 45, Floats Weeks 5 - 35, 40 - 47, 50 - 52
does it mean i can use the/a unit between all the weeks listed as float weeks?
What this means is that you must first RESERVE (and then can use) any week among those particular week numbers identified. However, you CANNOT reserve any week which is outside the range of those specifically identified weeks.
"Float week 45" simply means that week 45 is the week which is identified on the underlying deed. This practice is done mostly for "inventory control" purposes, making sure that a resort does not sell more "floating" weeks than is even mathematically possible to be reserved in any given year.
Hope this helps you to understand the concept (and limitations) of "floating" weeks.
Owners of "floating" weeks frequently and strongly advise reserving a week as early in any given year as possible. If you wait too long, there may be very little remaining available from which to choose and reserve a week. The early bird gets the worm, as the saying goes.
