New owners of timeshare Pueblo Bonito Sunset
We purchased a timeshare last year at Pueblo Bonito Sunset last year. We were told that we could use the points to stay in other places in the US and other countries with the point we purchased. It turns out the we purchased three different things, one hundred universal points optional activation fee, one hundred platinum points optional activation fee and a pueblo bonito preferred plan. We were told at the time of purchase that we would not have to come to Cabo every year and that we could exchange for places all over the world and US. It turns out that was not true. We do not have to pay the activation fee if we don't use the points but they don't exchange. Is it realistic to think that we can rent out out timeshare for double the activation fee as we were told at purchase?

Definitely not. As Don P said, most of the things said at these sales presentations are lies. Sorry to hear that you shelled out a bunch of money based on their lies. Sadly, many Mexican timeshares are a dime a dozen for rentals. You would be hard-pressed to even get back in maintenance fees for a rental. The best thing you can do is probably try to make use of what you have.
The sales people might have referred you to some third-party rental company that says it will rent out your unit (for a lot of money) if you pay them some sort of fee like advertising fee or marketing fee, etc. Don' get suckered in by these.

Has anyone on here been successful with their attempts to cancel their timeshares. Has anyone tried to file a Profeco claim against Pueblo Bonito? If anyone has been successful or knows of someone that was able to get out the scam, will you please message back and let me know how you did so.

That depends. Are you looking to cancel before or after your rescission period ended?
You can file a complaint with Profeco if you want. It won't hurt but don't expect much.
