If you conduct a search of RedWeek forums using this individual's name, you will easily find dozens of relevant posts, including some (defensive) posts by Preston Green himself.

Preston Green is evidently the principal in an outfit called "Vacation Homes Only", based in California (iirc). He acts as a "middleman" in rentals, apparently trolling the Internet for ads which he seems to regard as invitations to try to insert himself into potential transactions (for a profit, of course).

Make the effort to do a little searching and you will find more than you likely care to read about Preston Green, but I suspect that your instincts are correct. Personally, I was not at all impressed and was immediately turned off by the one and only unsolicited conversation I had (or ever will have) with Mr. Green, which was a few years ago now.

I personally wouldn't trust Preston Green for one second, but am not sure that he is completely a "scam artist". He is most certainly an opportunist, attempting to insert himself between advertising owners and would-be renters to make money. It seems that some of the rental transactions that Green "brokers" may actually turn out o.k. for both parties but, just as clearly, other transactions with Green do not end well at all. That kind of inconsistency is something to stay far away from, in my opinion.

I personally found Preston Green to be arrogant and decidedly obnoxious in our one and only phone conversation. I would never trust him nor would I ever conduct any business with him.

He takes peoples money and states that he has what they want and then he goes looking for the property . If he doesn't find it he tries to bait and switch . If the customer demands their money back he ignores them . One of the oldest scams in the rental game .

A lot of people get bad vibes when dealing with Preston Green. Trust your instincts.
