Silver Lakes Resort, Kissimmee, Florida,

Jun 29, 2018

Hi Everybody,

I own a 2 bed/2bathroomed unit at Silver Lakes Resort, Kissimmee, Florida, when I purchased the week back in 2005 I suffered misrepresentation by the sales rep who told me I could use my Silver Lake points to cover the flight costs from the UK (I live in the UK) sometime later I discovered this was incorrect. Due to financial problems I have not been able to pay the 2017 & 2018 management fees, have received several letters requesting the fees, but no action has been served upon me to date. Last month after reading some advice on a forum I wrote to Silver Lake Resorts requesting the following:

"I would rather come to some agreement with Silver Lake Resorts regarding my membership and would propose a resolution to suit both parties. I would be happy to transfer the asset by ways of a Deed in lieu of Foreclosure rather than going through foreclosure proceedings, alternatively I understand Florida State Law provides for non-judicial foreclosures when it comes to timeshare assets/properties and will be willing to enter that process which I believe will save the resort costs and enable the resort to resell the asset at a further profit"

Silver Lake Resorts wrote back to stating they would take the ownership back on the condition I pay my $2300 arrears, unfortunately, I just do not have this money, so I am still in a dark place worrying.

Can anyone tell me what to do? or give me some advice, or let me know if the maintenance arrears can be collected in the UK, my friend who has some legal knowledge has told me it cannot be collected in the UK, is this true, all advice appreciated, thank you.

They probably can't do anything to you in the UK.

I personally would just forget about it. Not like they can do anything about it, can’t draw blood from a turnip no matter how hard 1 tries, so don’t worry about it.
