Floating week
That depends on a number of factors such as which resort you own at and what timeshare company it is with such as Hilton , Wyndham, etc. Different resorts and systems have different ways of classifying different floating weeks. But floating usually means that it is not a fixed week such as week 29. It usually means that you can book a week within a range of weeks. Some owners like this for the flexibility.
"Medium" and "Platinum" are different ways various resorts and systems classify the weeks available depending on demand. For instance, weeks around Christmas and school vacations are usually in higher demand than a week in September or October. So if that is the case, the resort might classify school vacation weeks as platinum and September weeks as something that does not sound as good as platinum.
How that would work for an owner is that if you buy a cheaper week that is not platinum, you probably will not be able to book a platinum week at that resort.
